What about Jerry Stackhouse?

Post#1 » by BillessuR6 » Thu Jul 9, 2009 12:38 pm

Could we get Stack for the minimum after he is waived by the grizzlies? Should we be interested?

He is 34, was injured last season but I think he could still help us as a back up at SG, SF...He can create his own shot, post up smaller guys and score...

I doubt we could get him for the minimum but it is worth a try...of course, if he is healthy and in shape...

Seems too injured prone to take a chance on. He hasn't played 70 or more games during the season since 2002-03.

even in his prime, stack was nothing more than an inefficient volume scorer. Take it from someone who followed the Mavs this year; he's done as done gets, one of the worst guys you can have on your team at this point. Basically Antoine Walker part 2 without all the cool nostalgia.

So your saying we should bring back Walker? I'll start the thread.

Id take him on If we already got a guy on the bench to back up the 2/3 and he was just being used as insurance in times of injury and blowout, i hope we can do much better though

stackhouse definitely put together a nice career but I'll always have a sore spot for him... Even though I am a c's fan I was rootin for MJ when he made his comeback in 01' with the wizards... the big trade for the wizards the following year involved rip hamilton goin to detroit and stackhouse goin to the wizards... the wizards had an ok team and with the addition of stackhouse they would be able to make a playoff run... Except stackhouse always seemed to sh#% the bed in the 4th qtr of games and his D was terrible... I would have liked to see MJ in the playoffs one more year... I haven't seen stack's name come up on the c's radar and I hope it stays that way...
