OT: LA/Houston

Post#1 » by Fencer reregistered » Thu Jul 9, 2009 10:36 pm

If they'd been calm about it, LA and Houston might have been able to execute an Artest/Ariza trade, thus preserving cap space.

LA doesn't seem to be serious about spending for the best possible roster.

This could be a good thing. :)

LA was likely uninterested in making a move past Artest that didn't involve re-signing Odom, so there wasn't a need to preserve the MLE. Even the chance to use it on another small piece isn't worth helping out Houston by giving them that extra flexibility.

Ariza had a BYC status.

I keep wondering the same about us and detroit with big baby.

But that tells me DA is positive no one is going to give big baby the full MLE.

The Lakers will re-sign Odom. No team is offering him more. Besides, he loves L.A.
