Can we get in on CHI/POR/UTA deal?

A trade is in the making that would send Boozer to CHI, Hinrich to POR and Tyrus Thomas to UTA. Some other players will probably be involved and I would like us to get in on action.

We know POR likes Davis, so a sign and trade might make some sense...

There are some interesting players on these teams that would fit nicely here in Boston...Steve Blake, Outlaw, CJ Miles...

Do you think we can get any of these role players?

According to The Oregonian, Portland is trying to get Paul Millsap. Millsap appears to be a higher priority than Baby Davis.

EDIT: Hmm, disregard the original post. This trade should allow Utah to resign Millsap. The Celtics could jump in but the only bad contract the Blazers have is Martell Webster, who doesn't appear to be a good fit in Boston.

again, why would Portland not just sign BBD outright? what incentive do they have to do a S&T?

I want no part of this trade.

It's just a swap of trash players.

After this trade POR wouldn`t have cap space for Milsap. And UTA would obviously retain Milsap...

The incentive for POR would be not to add salary...

I came up with this...

*Perk is in the deal because Davis would probably get a similar contract

BOS out: Davis (signed for Perk money)+TA+Giddens
BOS in: CJ Miles, Blake

Ty Thomas in Utah, I couldn't picture that easily.

Hinrich would be a great pick up for the Blazers IMO. I am unsure why they would be looking to pick up Millsap. Oden/Pryz/Aldridge leave their front court in good shape, and even if Oden's health remains iffy Millsap is short for the C position.

All I know is, Chicago is getting greedy as hell and lowballing again.

They're ready to get Carlos freaking Boozer for an inconsistent guy like Thomas who they are ready to dump, and Hinrich, who they were ready to ship out as a salary dump a year ago.

Now they're insisting on Jerryd Bayless too?

Whoever Portland throws in needs to go to UTAH. Why would Utah want to do Boozer for Tyrus Thomas straight up? That's garbage.

Paxson needs to get off it turns out like their lowball offers for Gasol - and Utah gets frustrated and ships Boozer to the Lakers for a lowball offer.

Boozer isn't worth that much more than Tyrus Thomas, in terms of value. Thomas could be a mega-force in the league defensively, he's getting there, and he's also developing an offensive game. Boozer is overrated, barely a defensive presence.

"The Celtics could jump in but the only bad contract the Blazers have is Martell Webster, who doesn't appear to be a good fit in Boston."

Why wouldn't Webster fit here?

Webster fits a need. I was never a huge fan of him though. Especially coming off of an injury.

Now, If Outlaw or C.J. Miles was involved. Then I would be happy with one of those two.

But if we could get Webster throw in for nothing, alongside an Outlaw or Miles, why not?

He might be overrated, but weve been saying these things about Thomas for years and years - teams like Detroit have been talking about clearing space to go after Boozer, etc...Thomas is still a risky project.

Ty Thomas plus Hinrich is a fairly reasonable trade for Boozer. Boozer's value is deflated since he might bolt after one year; the same reason we are often erroneously claiming that Ray has extra value!

Thomas isn't a "risky project" anymore. The dude produced last season.
Not that he can't get better, he can. But he took a huge step last year.
