Howsabout this.......

A new private recording studio for his wife and her own new label so she can pretend she is a big time artist.
This way her husband can come and play basketball for a season and finally get a Ring.

And what sort of chemical additive do you suggest slipping into Kerr's drink before this deal is proposed?

I think this might actually be what is in the works.

I think PHX is deciding whether they want to increase their commitment to Hill by using the MLE or giving him a 2nd year. If they decide no, then they will probably open discussions with Boston to send him there.

I just think if Grant Hill really wanted to go to NY he would be there already no? They offered him twice as much money. I think he wants to stay in PHX or come to Boston he just isn't real into the idea of going there for half the cash or less for that matter.

Maybe TA/Giddens for Grant on a 3 year deal at 3-4 mil per. It can be Pruitt instead if PHX wants a pg or just wants to cut him but I thought Giddens might have some attraction.

It's so hard to figure out what is going on in Phoenix, sometimes I think they wish they didn't have to deal with the inconvenience of actually needing to have players to put on the floor. A sign and trade certainly could work to land Hill here, I just have no idea what it is that Phoenix would want in return.

Is it me, or is this the first year where the wives of pro athletes were put at the front and center of acquisitions? Texiera in baseball? NBA? I mean, you never hear the wife or player say anything. Is it poor reporting by "journalists"? I would say leave the player's family out of it and let them make their decision for their reasons.

Agreed...the wives need to STFU, it's because their hubbys make the millions that they have the lives they do....

Yeah and if you piss them off then they have your millions, you kids, your house, and a new hubby.

Dude any of you have girlfriends or wives?

I don't think anything has changed it is just the reality of these decisions are becoming more public. But this wife crap is just the new "it isn't about the money," it is about the money, does anyone ever really take less when their wife makes the call?

Uh, hell no.

Whoops, musta missed that!

I would never do what I advocated to my own wife...we always make decisions together. But I'm sure if I was raking in millions she'd let me do what was best for me...let's face it, Grant has the rest of his life to be pussy-whipped by his wife...she can't let him have a few more seasons to try to win a title?

Family considerations always play (or should) a big part in players decisions, but I agree that they should be kept out of the press. At the signing press conference if Hill wishes to let everyone know what his considerations were, that's his business. In the meantime, it's no ones business except his families.

What I do know is I wouldn't use my wife as an excuse for not taking a job somewhere nor would I let my agent do it. I have (in my line of work) turned down positions due to having to move my family. We talked (my wife and I ) but when it can down to making the call I said it was my call and I never brought her into the picture. But times may have be a changing.

Yeah, if the wife ain't happy, Grant isn't going to be happy. They gotta make their decisions together.

That said, one year in Boston isn't going to kill her career.

To me, the biggest factor in Hill picking the Knicks and Suns over the Cs is the fact that he'll get much more playing time--and start--with the Knicks/Suns. He recently told the NYT that since he missed so much time due to injury when he was younger, he wants to play as much as possible while he still can. I'm not sure how many minutes he'll get in Boston, maybe 20 a night? Or 25? I'm not sure that's enough for him.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

Yes, but if Grant ain't rich, the wife ain't rich, either...

Plus it's not as if she has a stellar career going...no one even knows who the **** she is...

Wheee! He can end his career losing lots of games and not being in the playoffs!

How come no one's slagging Grant for saying the same thing AI did...that he doesn't wanna come off the bench, he wants to start...

I have a girlfriend. I told her about Hill and his wife. I asked her if we were in a similar situation. She would want me to play for Miami because of no snow down there. Scary, isn't it?
