I'm a tradetracker Genius

Trade ID #5191112

I don't even think Danny Ainge, Steve Kerr, or Mike Dunleavy could think of trade that makes this much sense..Wow. This deal would make sense for all three parties. Phoenix gets short changed in terms of talent, but it makes sense when looking at their financial situation. Camby gives them a servicable Center, defensive minded to fill in and keep them competitive...he's off the books after the season.
For LA, they bring in a nice young center in Perkins in exchange for Camby.

For Boston, they continue to add star power. Ainge's only challange will be filling in the roster. That might be the only thing that would stall such a deal.

Any thoughts?

hmm .. we are stuck without a true center, and KG, Sheed, and Amare all on the same team? ... Id stick with Perkins, and our current lineup ... We need people to play Dwight and Shaq come playoff time.

No way in hell Phoenix does this deal, and it doesn't really make Boston much better. Amare can score, but the Cs are about defense and Perk brings it. Truth + Ray + KG + Sheed + Amare = not enough ball to go around.

people gotta create trades with a reason and plan behind them, not just off name sake

No thanks.

We'd get Amare basically in exchange for Perk, House, TA, Scal and Giddens

That leaves us with:

Amare/Sheed
KG/Sheed/
PP/Walker
Ray/Pruitt
Rondo/Pruitt

We would literally have no bench and the FA options out there aren't pretty (esp. considering the lack of $ we have available).

To me, this is a lateral move that depletes us of the very little depth we had. Amare is a great offensive big that would eventually take KG's place as our top big, but we lose a ton of defense and depth. I can't see Danny pulling the trigger unless we have a backup 1, 2, and 3 in set in place. We could get a Joe Smith or possibly bring back BBD as our 4th big, but there is so little in the way of help at the 1-3 spots it isn't even funny. If we suffered an injury to any of RR, PP, or RA we'd be screwed, not to mention the insane minutes each of them would have to play.

and my thinking on this trade would be starting Wallace at center with Amare becoming the super 6th man.
This trade makes more sense if we could bring in a wing stopper. Bowen (if he's bought out) or someone along those lines.

wallace, KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo. Super 6th-Amare, Walker, Bowen, Pruitt. Swift, Coby Karl, Lester Hudson.

That's enough depth. I'm high on Walker though

Wow. That's awful. Perk fits perfectly with our system and can guard all centers one-on-one and you wanna trade him for a guy that can't guard a chair?

True haha ... and why do we need Amare coming off our bench?? Thats too much. Plus, I dont think he would enjoy and accept that role. He complained in Phoenix about his offensive role. Do you think Amare would be a good fit, or just because hes Amare we should get him??

and then what? we are renting Amare for short term and we haven't solved the back 1 and 3, we actually lose assets

I haven't heard any specifics. I just know that they're not done. Ainge likes a couple FA wings and he's looking at a couple minor deals that could land us a veteran backup pg.
I will say that I was really surprised that we didn't land Grant Hill. Last I heard it was about as good as done. He was going to pick Celtics over money and go for a ring...I have no idea what happened there.

Other than that it's pretty quiet and I've been wasting some time at work playing around on tradetracker. haha. Clearly not coming up with great ideas.

your organization plucked a winner in last years draft and it looks like they struck gold with their second rounder this year. Hopefully the C's pick up some needed youth.

It's not a horrible deal, because we get the best player involved, but it's not a better fit than what we already got going on. Sheed is willing to come off the bench, he's as dynamic as Amare on offense (albeit in different ways) and He with KG is a great tandem for ends of games.
