I can honestly say, with no green font, I would rather keep TA than have AK on the Celtic's. Hate the guy with a passion. And would be a god awful fit on the C's. CJ Miles to replace RAY?! NO!

Re: AK47 / CJ Miles
Absolutely! AK47 is signed for only 2 more years and he can be the defensive stopper we need. He's long and quick, so he can matchup against any wing player which gives Paul a break on D. Not only that, AK47 can handle, pass and finally can even shoot a little, which are all bonus.
And CJ Miles is a good player to come off the bench. He's not great, but he'll give us some depth off the bench.
I think it'll be a great move!

His D is SO overrated. And he cannot shoot, at all. He makes Paul go down to shooting guard, not his natural position. And Rondo and AK47 on the floor at the same time would be a disaster. Neither can shoot, so Paul's ability to drive on teams would be killed. Terrible, TERRIBLE idea.

I disagree. His blocks and steals numbers have gone down, but he's still an excellent defender. His length and quickness allows him to be a tough player to shed for most wing players. And yes, he's not the best shooter, but IMO, his shooting has improved a lot too. I may be overrating that aspect of his game because he does play with D-Williams, but from the games I've seen, he can make 15~18 footers pretty consistently.

Replace Miles with Williams and I'll think about it.

Do you seriously believe that replacing Ray with AK47 will actually increase our chances of winning a title?
By the way, Ray's defense is pretty good. Not spectacular but I'd say better than AK47 at this point.

Re: AK47 / CJ Miles
um.... WHY!?
we'd be trading a 38 mpg starter for a 6th and 7th man.
plus, ray has a big expiring contract that is worth much more than a first round pick in the 20's, ak47, and miles.
this is really awful. why would you go out of your way to think of something like this... and then think its ok to post it?

Well Ray is a solid defender since coming to Boston, and I don't know that I'd go THAT far to say his D is better than AK47, but the difference between the two would absolutely not be worth trading for.
They way I see it is...
Ray's offensive fit/production >>>>> AK47
Ray on D < AK47

AK47 is so great at D, that our very own Paul Pierce made him cry a few years ago in the lockerroom after dropping 30 on him.
AK-47 has been terrible ever since he got hooked on World of Warcraft.

Re: AK47 / CJ Miles
I would at least consider this. I don't think the Jazz would, especially since they can trade Boozer for a better SG, but who knows. CJ Miles is a capable offensive player with solid potential and possibly the ability to play back up PG, Kirilenko is a premier defender or close to one who can guard the SF/PF positions (Ray is not a premier defender and cannot guard the SF/PF positions nor provide help defense as effectively). On the offensive end, Kirilenko is brings a game similar to Grant Hill and has shown signs in the past of having developed a respectable three point shot. Kirilenko's contract is large but starting next offseason it is an expiring contract.
Of course we would be altering team chemistry (not necessarily a bad thing at this point you have to continually make adjustments), and this trade would hurt our three point shooting ability, and it is unclear whether we have enough minutes to go around for Kirilenko especially if PP isn't able to guard SGs too well.
Ultimately, IMO, this isn't something that should be laughed off.

Actually if I recall correctly, Utah has had a very on-and-off relationship with AK. Maybe if somehow both Millsap and Boozer leave, they'll use him at PF, but I would be surprised if they didn't do this trade.

No. But in doing so, Boston will do what Utah is doing and that's paying a player an All-Star's salary to come off the bench. Kirilenko wouldn't start ahead of Pierce, and he isn't a full-time power forward. His contract is as bad or worst than the deals that Deng, Okafor and Dalembert got. I don't necessarily dislike any of these players, including Kirilenko. But they were fortunate to be on teams that overvalued or overspent to retain them. Sometimes, you've to let another team take the financial risk and responsibility. Iguodala might prove to be another example. But he could make an All-Star game once like Kirilenko, eventually.
