Cool, we want him too. Maybe we can start a new bandwagon called Moonheads.

We can give them some expirings. I bet they are dying to trade for Scala. Forget that Wade guy Scalas a player you can build around.

Moon would be a very nice pickup, if in fact this were possible.

Rotation:

Rondo / Pruitt
Allen / House
Pierce / Moon
KG / Wallace
Perkins / Wallace

This article mentions that Linas Kleiza is free agent. How come his name has come up on the endless free agent chatter on this board? He seems like one of the better FAs out there. I don't know about his defense but he can put the ball in the basket pretty well.

He's a restricted free agent and Denver would match the LLE. Same goes for Moon, but the Herald reported Ainge talked some sign and trade scenarios regarding Moon.

Four years ago Danny Ainge facilitated a sign and trade for Antoine Walker for the Heat that yielded flotsam, jetsam and a 2nd round pick in return. Perhaps it's time for Riley to return the favor?

More importantly we don't really have anything to offer him so it will have to be a trade. The Heat will probably take a draft pick and/or expiring deal maybe they will go for Giddens. They are not going to want to give him a deal beyond this season.

There are question marks with everyone but he fits the bill. Klieza seems like a guy who would want a little more and may look to be a starter and I don't think he is really a better player. I would be fine with him in Green as well.

hmmmm....

Grant Hill
eFG% = 52.6%, 54.0% TRB% 9.0, 9.7% TOV% 10.7, 13 ORtg 115, 114 DRtg 108, 111 PER 15.7, 15.2, 3pt% = 31.6, 31.7

Tony Allen
eFG% = 45.9 49.3 TRB% 7.3, 7.1, TOV% 18.9, 18.8, ORtg 98, 98, DRtg 99, 100, PER 10.7, 12.9, 3pt% = 22.2, 31.6

Jamario Moon
eFG% = 53.3, 53.7 TRB% 10.6, 10.4 TOV% 8.2, 7.8 ORtg 116, 116, DRtg 107, 107, PER 14.2, 13.3, 3pt% = 34.5, 35.5

Matt Barnes
eFG% = 51.0, 48.3 TRB% 11.8, 12.3, TOV% 15.1, 15.0 ORtg 107, 105, DRtg 111, 108, PER 12.6, 12.9, 3pt% = 34.3, 29.3

Linus Kleiza
eFG% = 51.5, 54.3 TRB% 104, 9.5 TOV% 10, 10.6 ORtg 110, 114, Drtg 110, 109, PER 13.2, 14.4 3pt% = 32.6, 33.9

I think Moon compares quite favorably to the other options that are available, he's also got the size we're looking for.

He'd be a solid option for us. I still prefer someone who's a better shooter but he would be okay. Someone like Kleiza, Barnes, or Butler would be terrific though.

he's mehhh.

if it was scal or ta and some late 2nd round pick in 2032, for a 2-3m a year deal. I'd take him. improves scal int moon for same salary slot and gives us option of using lle still.

Hes an upgrade over TA and not a gamble like Giddens/Walker who have yet to prove anything.

He doesnt have to be an amazing player, the point is to get someone who can just hold it down while Pierce or Ray rests.... and Moon is more than capable of that IMO

though sign and trades make it difficult, hopefully Miami is interested in, well something we have to offer... TA would be great

The great thing about Moon is that he's a guy that you can depend on to guard the opponents best wing player. Frankly I'd be willing to deal House + filler for Moon. Then look to add a PG with the LLE.

Rondo/LLE
Ray/Moon/TA
Pierce/Moon/TA
KG/Sheed/Davis/Scal
Perk/Sheed/Davis

That would be a great rotation and moving House would be a bonus IMO because he's completely unreliable come playoff time. I personally think that Scal has more value to the Celtics and Tony Allen doesn't have the value to entice Miami to S&T Moon.

Moon gets steals, blocks, boards, dunks and 3s and he doesn't foul or turn the ball over. Not much more you could ask for from a back-up wing except for playmaking, and that's more of a luxury coming off the bench.

I wonder how much Miami likes him. If I were Danny I'd be willing to sacrifice a future first for him, if they're not enamored with Giddens or Walker.
