We have to see who we lose in the S and T before we trade Baby, IMHO.

Even if we trade Scala with Giddens or Tony we'd still be deep at that position.

I think Doc would want to keep BBD if we lose Scal. Scal counts as a big - so losing Scal means we need an extra big for depth purposes. I think if Scal goes there is more pressure on us to sign BBD.

Guys that are better then Scala are a dime a dozen. We could easily replace him with Joe Smith etc.

Seemed like he was traded just to match salaries, so he might be on the block.
Still, while Alston had a few good games in the post-season, so did the much younger BBD. I don't see why the Cs make the trade.

You mean guys like BBD?! Yeah thats why if we trade Scal we want to keep Davis IMHO.
PG is less of a need with Daniels on board. We can just get a cheap third string PG that signs for the minimum. A nobody with a good handle..There are always guys who were undrafted or from the D-league who could handle the third string PG job. PGs really ARE a dime a dozen. There are crap load less people 6'8" who can shoot Js then there are 6'1" guys that can handle a basketball..

I think we'd be better suited to find a 4th big through free agency. There's more of a selection then there is at the point position. Point guard should be the position we trade for unless we can get Marbury to sign for cheap.
Big Baby will become disgruntled if he's not getting minutes. So we might as well trade him now while his value is high. A veteran big would probably be much more accepting of their role.

I don't get the point.
Why not keep Big Baby? An assurance on the 4-5 spot is much more needed than a PG right now...
Because resting Wallace/KG/Perk in the regular season is HUGE for the Celtics and it's pretty 90% that they won't stay healthy for the whole season.
Keep Baby, he WILL get playing time due to Boston cruising a lot of the games to cut the minutes for the other big guys.

Baby was crying last year about his minutes. Picture the size of his head now that he actually has done something. He probably thinks he's better then Michael Jordan and Bill Russell combined.

Let him cry, he should be okay with 20 minutes a game.
+ He doesn't have much choice, he can cry if he wants to but I doubt, he's humble and not that kind of person.
He'll want to perform well because even if we do resign him, he has to keep being impressive if he ever thinks there will be teams hunting him.

Dallas could be a possible landing spot for the large one, seeing how they lost out on both Bass and Gortat. Maybe for Matt Carroll or Buckner, who are both expiring and could be paired with our other pieces for a deadline deal. Their 4mil salary with Scal and Tony would allow us to get a player in the 12mil range.

It says Carroll has 4 yrs left and Buckner 2 yrs on the tradechecker. (3 and 1 if you don't count next season)

Whoops, good catch. Those include next season though so Buckner is an expiring, guess it would have to be him then. Maybe we could get Barea somehow, he'd be a solid backup for Rondo.

Actually Buckners not an expiring because it has a 1 next to his name. Ray's for example has a 0 next to it.

No it doesn't, look again. They updated it when free agency started.
