Good signing. But the Magic are still a sub par defensive team.

Statistically weren't they solid last year?

They were 1st in defense....

It has now officially become

1. Boston/Orlando
2. Cleveland
3. Who
4. Cares
5. ........
6. Doughnut

agreed. i really dont see cle being able to compete with bos or orl.. unless they can make some more additions they will be far from favorites. then again you still have to consider the lebron factor.

I live in Cleveland, so I've seen quite a few of their games. They're a great team, don't get me wrong, but BOS/ORL are simply better, and would make for the more interesting ECF.

c'mon.. we lose both targets at sf to 2 biggest rivals. wanted barnes first and moon 2nd. barnes is really perfect for us imo and the magic get him. both those teams have a really good depth chart after getting them.

I wonder how Celtics management will retaliate to this. There should be news on Big Baby real soon.

If Matt Barnes and Jamario Moon were the 1st choice/best case scenario at sf then someone needs to piss test Danny.
Grant Hill was his obvious target and we don't know who was next, all we heard were rumors from some very unreliable "reporters".

Good signing by them, they are going to be tough to beat, they are now deeper then they were last year, fewer matchup problems but deeper,

i don't think the signing of matt barnes will affect the 2010 championship. stop making headlines about marginal players.

I wonder if Barnes can actually make free throws for them. Good signing though.

Right, just like when you guys got Posey, you wouldn't have beaten the Lakers without him, you need good role players to win.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Hmmm... Barnes is a nice pickup but Posey, when picked up by us was already an NBA champ, a better 3 pt. shooter, free thrower, clutch as hell, playoff savvy and a proven locker room leader. A much more significant pickup than Barnes.

And when you get a James Posey type off the bench let us know.

Heh. So Barnes is now the Magic's version of James Posey? This I gotta see.

We already have one better, his name is Mickael Pietrus......

and Barnes numbers as a starter last year were solid all around 13/6/3 on 46 percent shooting and 38 percent from 3.

Wasn't my point, you think role players don't matter on championship teams, I proved otherwise
