OT: About that Boozer three-team rumor

Does this make sense for Houston? Of the three teams, I don't like it for them. If they don't want Battier, Boston would have him. Because Thomas is okay but the other two players are expiring contracts. I mean Jerome James? Wow. The Rockets better hope in this scenario that Thomas signs to an extension since he can become a free agent after next season too.
I would do a House and Scalabrine (works on Trade Checker) for Battier.
Among the more intriguing rumors that surfaced on Monday was a three-team deal reported by Bulls.com that would send Shane Battier and Carl Landry from the Houston Rockets to Utah, Boozer to Chicago, Jerome James and Tyrus Thomas from the Bulls and Kyrylo Fesenko from the Jazz to the Rockets.

Players with Trade Restrictions
Carl Landry from Houston
Landry has signed an offer sheet that has been matched which means he must agree to any trade which occurs before Sep 25, 2009. However, he cannot be traded to Charlotte.

They must really like Thomas then. You're incredibly undervaluing him if you think Scal/House is even close value to what they're getting in that deal.

Landry and Scola are both better than Thomas, so I'm not sure why Hou does this. The Jazz, my favorite team outside Boston/Minnesota, is making out like a bandit. Chi on the other hand, is taking a big risk unless they get an extension worked out.

In this case, Houston should get some picks...

I think that would be a nice deal for the jazz...I guess CHI would have to throw in a little more...

You would think Boston having a few expiring contracts that they could get in on these multiple teams involved in a trade rumor.

Tyrus Thomas can put up stat lines that only 3 or so guys in the league can touch. Check out his game log from last year, some of em are just wacky. Hes battled consistency problems tho.

I still don't think acquiring Thomas is worth giving up Battier and Landry. That's suicide.

And yet you want to get Battier for Scalabrine and Eddie Freaking House.
I thought the Battier, Landry for Ty Thomas trade was bad until i saw this....

Fesenko has some upside he is 22 years old 7' 290lbs and can play and they need a center. I am pretty high on Ty Thomas he has some issues but the primary one is that he plays on the same team as Deng.
The Rockets are giving up two bench players that combine for 10 mil in salary for two guys who project as starters so the risk/reward is there. If it doesn't work they at least opened up more salary for next year.

It makes absolutely no sense for Houston, therefore they should take Boston's offer instead.

Well the rumor is good as dead.

It was just a rumor, so I doubt any of those teams made that offer. The media did.

A sign-and-trade of David Lee to Utah for Boozer makes little to no sense for the Jazz already having Millsap.
Curious move for New York, if they can sign LeBron in 2010, he and Boozer could be teammates again.

Why does it make little to no sense? They need to have at least 3 bigs who can play, and Okur is on his last year and plays like a SF. Lee and Milsap are a little short but they tend to make up for that with hustle and rebounding. Boozer is only about 6'8" himself.
