C's waiting game.........

"Several pieces are falling into place in Indiana, which could clarify how Daniels becomes a Celtic, one of them being if Jamaal Tinsley clears waivers Wednesday. The Pacers are in the midst of restructuring, and the departure of Tinsley means none of the Indiana players involved in a 2004 brawl involving the Pistons and fans will be on the Pacer roster.

Indiana also decided not to match Toronto’s offer for guard Jarrett Jack (four years, $20 million). The Pacers added guard Dahntay Jones from Denver (four years, $11 million) and their next target appears to be Dallas center Ryan Hollins. The Pacers have been proactive in the market and, once their roster is settled, they should be able to conclude the Daniels deal."

Can't wait till this is over. I would hope we then turn our attention to BBD and our pg spot. I believe we have until Aug. 1, to sign Pruitt, so something will break after that.

"Once Daniels’s status has been established, the Celtics can deal with Stephon Marbury, a free agent, and Gabe Pruitt. The Celtics must decide whether to exercise an option on Pruitt by Friday."

What is Larry doing?! Dude has flipped out, great player, but his GM'ing needs some work. Daniels is better than Dahntay Jones, and now he let Rasho walk so he could maybe sign Ryan Hollins(doubtful that it happens)? He also let Jack & Tinsley go, when he should have been working the trade wire. Those guys are assets (Tinsley not so much), and the Pacers will get nothing in return.

Who cares who was in the fight 5 yrs ago?

I'd rather KG, Paul and Ray chokeslam a section of boys from the local YMCA then have a lousy team like the one the Pacers have now.

You talk to some Indy fans and they will tell you that he is trying to make the team better defensively. By getting rid of Daniels he was getting rid of 7 million to a guy who hasn't been very healthy the last few years. Indy fans will tell you that they were terrible defensively, and we know Obie likes defense. I don't think they are a finished product yet, but by bringing in Jones and maybe TA they will have some defense behind their wings.

I think Daniels will get between 3.5 to 4 million with Pruitt thrown in the deal because Pruitt can be released at no cost to Indy.

I can't stand O'Brien and his Dick Harder fronting defense. Your supposed to take a man from behind , by force if need be.

If the Celtics don't exercise their option on Pruitt by Friday, Gabe is a Free Agent. The Celtics gain a roster spot and owe him nothing.

If, however, the Celtics exercise their third year option on Gabe by Friday, my understanding is that he is guaranteed his full season salary of around $825,000 or so.

I think if there is a deal, it will be Tony Allen & Pruitt. If Indy doesn't want one or both of them it will be for whatever they can get from another team for them, that has cap room or a trade exception, to simply offer up cash or a pick in exchange. Pruitt is worth a second round pick, he's easy. Any team getting him gets to negotiate next summer when he will be a Restricted Free Agent. Tony is harder to figure. In this year's crappy draft, Tony would have gone pretty high. But he's only locked up for one year. That is a bigger problem than his talent. Some teams like first round picks because they know they'll have them around for a few years.

Unless something Dany'esque happens the pacers are going to be in mediocrity forever.
