http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-marbury072509&prov=yhoo&type=lgnsIt's a writer's view on Marbury's web shows. Makes me feel bad for the guy...

On the Davis watch, Celtics Stuff Live said that we're working on a trade to send Davis to the Nets. It said we're after Yi. Here's the link to CSL:

This will end up being the summer of Danny Ainge's dreams if he pulls off a Baby for Yi deal.

Baby for Yi? Awesome trade, Baby was a risk who panned out into an NBA-caliber roleplayer, Yi is a risk who could pan out into an even better player

What's the difference between Yi and Lafrentz? Is Yi a more mobile player at his height? I never paid much attention to him.

I heard the same stuff on Celticsstuff Live tonite and Yi is just one of the scenerios they heard Danny wanted back. There is also a guy on Cblog stating that Davis was a no show in Omaha for a charity game, and got an e-mail back stating that Davis was sorry to his fans, Ainge called him Friday night back to Boston to discuss his contract issues.

Raef...I still have a t-shirt jersey of his that my friend bought me as a joke.
Yi is very mobile and quick for a guy his size (7 foot). He has range out to 3 but like KG, he's mostly a mid range shooter. He can take guys off the dribble as well. He's not a great defender but would be fine in our system and is athletic enough to be a decent defender. He's a bit soft but has some good finesse in the paint.
I think the bottom line with Yi is that Ainge likes him a lot, and when Danny likes a prospect as much as he does Yi (he was gonna pick him with the 5th in the Oden/Durant draft even with Big Al on the team) you know he's something special.

Good write-up, but we need some pics of that shirt STAT. Is it just a jersey number?

After losing Posey and Brown last year, this is shaping up to be an awesome off-season- guess it was smart to save payroll for this summer

Since I reminded myself of it, I went into my closet to stroll down memory lane and its an actual jersey...

Wow. BBD is so underrated to some of you. While BBD was hitting game winnings shots in the playoffs, Yi was sucking his thumb and wondering why he has been a bust in this league.

Love me some BBD but Yi is intriguing. Baby was getting most of his scores off of open mid range jumpers which is exactly Yi's specialty. Interesting. We are collecting a team of great mid-range shooters - KG, PP, Sheed and Ray are some of the best in the business. Bring Yi along and the mid range continues. Pretty good rebounder as well. Probably a slight improvement over BBD.

Yeah, Yi is intriguing, but not better than BBD.

This is a buy low sell high move for Ainge. I like BBD, but we he's not going to get the minutes here that he did late in the season and the playoffs. Yi adds longer shooting range, height, and ability to finish in the open court. Baby has the passing ability, strength, and showed that he can be clutch. Defense is basically a wash.
Still, I'd take Yi. He's got more upside and I think he's going to show more now that he's been in the league a couple of years. His D is poor now, but with KG, Perk, Ray, Sheed around he can learn a lot. In NJ he was playing for a lottery team in a half empty building (sorry, Nets fans but I watch the games on YES). He's one of the best running 7' guys in the league and for the minutes he'd be getting here in the first year fans are going to love him.

Picking up Yi might be more of a business move then anything. China loves Yi like they love Yao, if you put him on a team like The Celtics, it could bring in a lot of money. Imagine going to the other side of the world and seeing 1.5 billion people wearing Green. $$$$
