Looks like maybe Bruce Bowen?

Saw this on the Bucks board
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/s ... ter-090723The Bucks, meanwhile, continue to explore their trade options with Bruce Bowen, who must be paid $2 million and waived by Aug. 1, or his $4 million salary for next season will become fully guaranteed.
No deal involving Bowen was close as of late Wednesday, but Milwaukee will continue to make Bowen available until it has to release him to save the extra $2 million.
I'm likewise told that there have not been any trade discussions between the Bucks and Boston that would put Bowen back in Celtics green, even though the 38-year-old seemingly would appeal to the Celts to plug into the role -- perimeter defensive specialist who can drain 3s, guard certain power forwards and provide some championship know-how -- that they never filled last season after James Posey left.
Tony Allen and Pruitt for Bowen works. Pruitt has to be replaced so it is not like Boston would add a lot of salary and then we would have Bowen and Scal as expirings at the deadline if he didn't have a role. Not much in this Stein piece is of much note but something has to happen today with both players and there seems to be some buzz about this on MIL's end.
EDIT Just noted that this is pretty damn old information I am passing along and has already probably been posted a page or so back. Either way perhaps a revisit.

I don't see it happening. Why pay a guy 4 million if he is going to be released anyway? If anything, this article tells us Ainge has no interest in such a deal.

That report is almost two weeks old. Means nothing.

Bowen 4 mil
or
TA 2.5
and
Vet min player at 736,000, assuming we cut Pruitt we still have to sign someone.
totaling 3.2 mil
So it would cost Boston $800,000 more to have Bruce Bowen, not insignificant with the lux tax but it is the price of minimum salary player we are talking. But we get a guy 6'8" who can shoot 3's and defend even if he is older than rocks. If Bowen is waived he isn't likely coming to Boston and may get more than the minimum anyhow.
Really if the Daniels deal falls apart would you be shocked if we turned around and gave that 2 mil to Bowen? This is cheaper.

Yeah it is old news but today is the day that both players have to be waived or contracts are guaranteed. To this point both teams have been trying to use the contracts in other trades they would lose their value as non guaranteed deals after today.

Well, I certainly wouldn't be shocked, but I think Pruitt will be let go today; Daniels will eventually sign, but it may take awhile to explore more trade options, so I don't see it falling apart. I wouldn't be mad if we got Bowen, but I just don't see it as an option. He will get released today, and probably return to SA, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting him for the league minimum.

Can see Bowen and Kurt Thomas being released tomorrow, since Milwaukee's primary m.o. is to save money.. Iirc Thomas' contract isn't fully guaranteed either. Boston can pick up both after August 1...

By signing Daniels I'm thinking Ainge isn't looking for another SF. I doubt there will be anyone left to trade after the S&T. Not to mention the line "I'm likewise told that there have not been any trade discussions between the Bucks and Boston". To me it doesn't at all look like it.

I bet he gets cut today and we scoop him up a few days later.

Bucks signing Warrick gives more credence to them releasing Bowen to save $2 mil.

I have no problem with Bowen at the minimum, but expectations should be tempered considering that he will be almost 39 years old by the time the playoffs start.

Have there been any reports regarding where he would like to go?

Well if a 39-year old PJ Brown can miss most of the season and still contribute, Bowen could at least make an impact in very limited minutes..

JH, it was reported on Yahoo or somewhere that Bowen and the Celts have mutual interest.
As to PJ, true... but he was also a big and not a perimeter player. Bowen's game has largely been about athletic defense, and he has clearly lost a couple of steps already. I suppose that he is still a good guy to have around, though.

As to how quick this guy's wheels are falling off his wagon, however, consider this:
Dude went from 1st team All-Defensive and 4th in DPOY voting in 2007-08 to not even getting a single vote for either of those awards this past year.

Yeah, and he can still pop that corner 3. Was over 40% from 3 last season per usual

Bowen would be a good pickup for the minimum. Can throw him in there for 5-10 minutes to tick off LeBron and Kobe.
