Could Boston be Ramon Sessions' third team?

Post#1 » by theman » Sun Aug 2, 2009 3:57 am

Supposedly, Clippers and Knicks are offering the LLE. If we end up signing Daniels for the LLE could the sign and trade involving Tony Allen and Giddens/Walker go to MIL for Sessions. I like Sessions. He is like a lot like Rondo only less, i.e. the perfect backup.

I think he'd prefer going to a different team than Boston if he's only signing a 1yr deal. Somewhere he'll get plenty of minutes to increase his value for next year.

Why won't Milwaukee match?

Directly translated, it means "It is" or "That is".

Generally, it's used to mean "That is to say" or "for example".

However, "for example" is not the correct translation. It is commonly misused/misinterpreted, possibly being thought of as "in example". "For example" should be used as "e.g." (exempli gratia).

As for the topic on hand .... I was also pondering if Ainge wants to bring in Sessions but I think we need more of a Vet PG.

Overall though, I don't think the PG is really that big of a deal.

I just hope we keep Walker.

Ainge can't promise playing time to him unless we get rid of House, as I said with Marbury, there just isn't any minutes unless we get rid of House. We need a veteran PG that will not complain about being the number three guy and be there for injury purposes. This is where I believe Lue comes into the equasion and the early rumors. I think Marbury was the option before Daniels was brought in as he will fit in with House better than Marbury did last year, but if Marbury fits with Daniels better then you trade House. In this case maybe we keep Hudson if Danny likes him as the number three being Marbury can start for this team. Time will tell here.

Nice Latin lesson!

I really like Sessions but I don't see how he plays for us next season. He wants minutes, and Milwaukee would be Sheboygan if they didn't match any of the paltry offer sheets being mentioned. Caveat emptor.

The Clippers and Knicks aren't offering the LLE. They're offering the MLE. The difference between the two is about $29 million.

I always just assumed it stood for "in example." You learn something new everyday.

I don't think we need a vet PG as the team has more than enough vet presence and vet PG's haven't typically worked out great for us in recent seasons.

Sessions is a quality PG, starter caliber. If we could land him for Tony and change, that would be a no brainer. But I doubt that.

If we had to sign and trade Baby or what not, maybe I consider if we have a solid replacement for Baby in the wings. Sessions would probably be worth Baby and more, but he can't shoot the trey and our new backup SG can't shoot the trey and we still lack a back up SF. So I wouldn't be in favor of going out of our way to land Sessions and I don't feel that landing him for chump change is a realistic possibility.

I always thought of i.e. as eqiuvalent to "in other words".

Sessions can compete for starter minutes on some teams and get a lot more money than we can give. He is not coming to Boston. However, he is a damn good point guard, especially if he was in a backup role here.

This guy has one stint at the end of one season with the other guards on the team on the IL and he gets credit for being a tremendous player???? Well I am also on the Ramon Sessions bandwagon because in those few games, he broke records, critics and ankles to go along with dishing credit and dimes to his teammates. He could be a difference in making a contender to a championship team, granted he plays 20 plus minutes per game without another pg on his back.
