ot: Pau, Ow! update: has emergency procedure on left hand

Post#1 » by Gant » Mon Aug 10, 2009 8:35 pm

Pau Gasol seems to have suffered some sort of finger injury while playing in Spain. Severity as yet unknown.

Run this article through a translator for details:

(I'd put this on the General Board, but I always lose a few IQ points when I open that page.)

Hopefully it's nothing too serious. I want both of our squads at full strength when we meet up so there are no excuses.

It does not seem serious. And it is on his left hand...

Well, we play them in the group stage in EC, so we know where to hit him now! ;) BTW, Vujacic is also injured. Hasn`t practiced with Slovenian team yet. He has a knee injury and is only slowly getting better...

Re: ot: Pau, Ow! update: has emergency operation on left hand

Update from Marca.com (through an online translator): "Pau Gasol was operated by emergency Seville stroke he suffered in his hand during training, the selection of Spanish in San Fernando."

That's all there was to the update.

Here's the original quote for any linguists: "Pau Gasol fue operado de urgencia en Sevilla por el golpe que sufrió en la mano durante el entrenamiento de la selección española en San Fernando."

operation probably means stitches or something. Judging by the Rubio stuff spanish papers can be pretty melodramatic. Also, I still surprised teams let thes guys play. Anyway hope it isn't serious.

I'm sure David Stern hopes so, he is having a hard time figuring out how to get another big man to LA for nothing.

 You dont have to worry about that, were good to go, but thanks for your concern, and I think the last excuse was "Cs would've been in the finals if K.G wasnt hurt"

By they way, Dcash translated it for us on our board.

quick translation, don't hold me to exact phrases.

Pau Gasol has given a scare in his last practice with the spanish team by being transferred to a hospital in Sevilla for an injury to the hand. The post-player for the lakers has had to abandon activities due to an injury to the index finger on the left hand, although the extent of the injury is still unknown.

Pau received the injury while trying to block Felipe Reyes. The player joined the team this past friday, this was his 4th practice.

Pau Gasol was transferred to the medical center in Sevilla, where he is awaiting tests and xrays in order to determine the extent of the injury.

Props to that thought, actually that was probably the only way to get him from playing anyway. Now he can rest for 3 weeks.

Anyway we'll be waiting for your boys arrival next spring.....
