So we whiffed on Bowen apparently. Here's another SF that is going to be on the market soon. Good size, can stroke the 3. He was buried on the Cavs as soon as West and Wally came on, but he could be another great wing depth signing along with Daniels..

agreed, I've loved sasha since his draft class and when he was getting buried inextricably by Sloan on the Jazz bench, and I think with his pedigree he'd be more inclined to sign on an established team like ours. Marquis and Pavlovic would complement each other very well. This would be a very nice touch

I like Sasha. He'd probably play well against Cleveland.

Sasha is a crappy but relatively established wing. Assuming we get Daniels, do we really need another crappy wing? I mean the guy was below freakin' Wally on the cavs depth chart.

For the vet min, I'd take a guy who can stroke it and has the size and ability to body up the bigger, stronger wings in the league. Why not?

I think Mike Brown had some personal issue with Pavs. He's definitely a better player than Wally.

Pavs is not a bad player. He is inconsistent, but he has alot of talent - athletic, nice stroke, can D up.

His primary problem is that he is turnover prone/makes poor decisions. So if Doc Rivers isn't patient with those type of guys (I assume he's not), he will get buried on the C's bench just like he was on CLE.

I think he would do best on a run and gun team like GS (or actually PHX, surprised they are cutting him..)

What's the news on Bowen? How did we whiff on him? I haven't seen anything on him lately besides him not returning to the Spurs.

Otherwise, Pavlovic would be a solid 4th wing with some experience. At the very least he could fill a taller Eddie House role on the team. I'd definitely rather give him minutes ahead of TA.

Well there was a report that we went hard after him and were rejected. He's not coming to us, at least at this point in time it seems..

I like him if we can get him.

IF he is hitting his 3 point shot with consistancy his defense makes him a pretty valuable player. One of the more underrated defensive players (when he plays hard, which I'm not sure he does)

Yeah, he's a very good defensive player. And he can drive and shoot the 3. I remember reading about some kind of friction between him and Mike Brown. And Pavs ended up being benched for sometime after that. But Daniels, Walker, Scal, and Giddens (and maybe even Baby if he slimmed down) can all play the 3. So it's not like we have a pressing need there.

I think that's kind of my point. Could it really hurt to add some more wing depth?

Scal - No effing way he can play the 3.

TA- No.

Baby - See Scal.

Giddens,Walker - Complete roll of the dice at this point. God knows what these guys will give us this year. This is a team going for a championship, not a rebuilding team.

So that leaves Daniels. And he missed more than a few games in the last couple. Sasha would be a great signing IMHO..

Sasha's PER was 8.4 at SF. His Per against was 14.3. I think we could find equal 'depth' signing some guy off the D-League.. I don't understand what people on this thread see in this guy. All he can do is hit the three - but he doesnt' do that very often.

One year for cheap and he'd be humbled and playing for a new contract.

He's shown solid potential from beyond the arc in the past.

He's 26 in November, entering peak age. One year behind Pietrus.

Awesome gamble (IMO) for the min if that's a possibility, good LLE pickup if we trade for Marquis, and I'm not opposed to us working something out with Phoenix. But I'm not surprised if he ends up in Europe.

The hype around Pavlovic stems entirely from the 06-07 playoffs when he got quite a few minutes as the third wing behind LeBron and Hughes. Announcers seemed to love Pavs because he had a number of exciting plays (dunks and steals by a white guy?!) despite the fact that is inconsistent jumper was a HUGE problem for the Cavs.

He also seemed to get a bunch of defensive credit (particularly for controling Carter in the NJ series if memory serves) despite the fact that he was pretty clearly the worst of the three wings defensively (not that he was terrible but LeBron and Hughes were vary good). Sure Pavs is a better man-to-man defender than Wally, but Wally is better in every other phase of the game, and the fact reamin that Mike Brown has kept Pavs on the bench the last two years even with a really brutal lack of depth at wing.

I'm not saying Pavs is useless, he is servicable and deserves an NBA contract. But adding another fringe-rotation vetern isn't adding depth. It's just stockpiling junk.

I rather see what Bill Walker can do at SF.

If we somehow end up trading Walker (or Giddens) and TA, I don't think it would be a bad move to pickup Pavs for the vet min, if it's possible. I don't know who you could get for the vet min who'd be better.
