Rumor from Miami board:

Riley declining comment is interesting IMO

there were also quite a few rumblings in Pacerland that Bird was working hard to land AI through a sign and trade...along with OKC as well

Could the Celtics be involved finally getting Daniels in a Celtics uniform. Could be interesting. Stay Tuned. :D

A day after posting on his Twitter account that he was waiting for a call from the Charlotte Bobcats, Miami Heat or New York Knicks, free-agent guard Allen Iverson indicated today that a decision on his playing future is at hand.

Iverson, however, also insists he is unaware of the potential destination.

Tuesday on his Twitter account, Iverson posted, "If you think that I am just going away-Think again! I am getting ready for the NBA season. Waiting for the call. Charlotte, Miami, NY."

That was followed today by an Iverson posting that read, "My people just informed me that we are getting close to a deal. I asked them to call me the when its done. I am so ready to know!"

Ten minutes later, Iverson added on his Twitter account, "I have not been this eager with anticipation since the night before the NBA Draft in 96. Then I knew where I was going, now I want to know!"

With the Bobcats seeking a new owner for the franchise, Charlotte is not expected to make any short-term moves, especially with starting point guard Raymond Felton still a restricted free agent.

The Knicks, although frequently mentioned as a potential Iverson suitor, apparently have no interest, even on a one-year deal.

As for the Heat, while Pat Riley again declined comment on free-agency issues, the team is not on the verge of any such move, with Iverson considered the type of backburner issue it could possibly consider closer to the Sept. 28 start of training camp.

Iverson's agent, Leon Rose, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

Just some fun speculation during the long summer months. :D

I think he's going to Miami. It would be great if we could get involved and get Daniels here and rid ourselves of Tony..

If there are rumblings of Indy, Miami, OKC involved then this has Danny Ainge's footprints all over it. I could see some crazy 4-way trade happening. This is something Ainge would do.

Again, it's fun to speculate especially in the off-season. :D

Just someone on the Miami board:

Just a rumor, could be nothing.

I'm hoping for something like this:

to Boston: Daniels, Iverson
to Indy: House, 2nd rounder
to OKC: Tony Allen, Giddens, cash and a future 1st round pick from Boston.

Then use the LLE to get another SG/SF.

Don't even know if it is able to work under the NBA rules but it's fun to dream. :D

I'd rather not have Boston here. Let him go to Charlotte. I'd like to see them get into the playoffs finally and it'd make a lot of sense for Iverson to reboot his career.

from Chris Mannix:

I'm hearing rumblings are that Charlotte is the leader for Allen Iverson. Miami won't offer enough money and NY not realistic

Makes sense.

CHA has always made the most sense to me, hell they even resemble the Sixer teams Iverson would lead to 50 wins. Good versatile defenders who can knock down open shots and the coach who put it together.

I just a got feeling that with Nate getting busted, Jason Williams going to the Magic, and the Sessions thing at a standstill, the Bucks will not offer Sessions a deal but they will match an offer sheet, that the NYK, whether they really want to or not, are the team with the MLE salary slot for one season just sitting there and could use the media hype and maybe even sell some tickets.

I really don't believe it's Char regardless of what Mannix tweets. Charlotte has ownership problems and they don't want to pay the luxury tax. Char has the Felton issue that needs to be resolved. I really don't think it's Charlotte. I'm guessing that it's a mystery team that no one has mentioned. I can't see the Knicks but the Heat are a possibility with Pat Riley IMO.

I really believe it's a mystery team.

CHA is nowhere near the lux tax they are barely over the cap. Iverson would be a gate draw especially for a deal at 3-4 mil bucks and might be able to get them to the playoffs. Not a financial issue.

The Heat are over the tax so they are not going to want to do anything beyond a minimum contract.

The Knicks are probably going to win about 25 games as they are built right now. They have 14 guys on the roster and maybe 2 of them can expect to be there beyond this season, while it has the makings of a great movie my guess is that at the moment it is going to be one of the worst seasons ever.

If they add AI to that chances are it will crash and burn brutally but if some other guys can get some shots to fall in D'Aontoni's system they can at least score a ton of points and be fun to watch. With a Duhon/Hughes backcourt they are basically going to be the 06-07 Celtics without Paul Pierce, a run and gun team that can't score and tries not to defend.
