OT - Is this board dying?

I know it's the offseason, but come on...only 7 threads active today? This board used to be one of the bustling behemoths. Now it's barely more active than the Nets or Bobcats board. Meanwhile, the Bucks board is off the charts, if their 15th man farts there's a 40 page thread within a day.

Well, we don't have a 15th man yet, do we? If the team signs, say, Lester Hudson, and I find out through the grapevine that he farts (he does have a facebook fan page, after all), I will be sure to start a topic.

Anyway, yeah, it's crazy slow here at RealGM Celtics, but the Daniels signing was such a slow process and there hasn't been that much news. This is looking like a great season, so it'll pick up.

We have a stable organization making reasonable decisions, so there's less to debate than usual. The Rondo/Ray trade talk died down, we're psyched about Sheed, eager to see how the team looks- but other than that the only things to talk about would be- who's our back-up point?; Robswift; will we/should we/can we trade TA/Scal?

The team just doesn't have a lot of things up in the air right now- I'm enjoying the continuity, personally. No worries about which prospects to keep, which to trade, who to hire, what we can get with expiring contracts, who Doc should play more, etc.

This board will never die

Dont worry us Laker fans will be here supporting you guys.

But on a serious note, thats why its good to post on other boards with good discussions and debates.

At times boards arent very active since a lot of fans from other teams are discouraged from posting since fans of those boards consider other fans on their boards as trolls and arguments seem to devert other fans from posting on your board.

As a Laker fan I enjoy posting on here, good peps, good arguments and even if peps talk ish, we know each other too well not to take ish personal, and I think both fan bases have mutual respect for one and other.

I would like to see the samething on our board, and poster like celticfan, Kefa, ProphetC etc are a good example. They are very respectfull on our board and they always bring good and positive energy to our board.

Funny thing about this board, and perhaps others as well, when we were in Ainge's first years and he was dismantling and acquiring new assets, there was constant debate about his every move and whether he was failing/had failed already, or he was on the right track and he'd cash in assets when the time was right. It got pretty brutal back then, but it was pretty fun debate. Remember Malle, Puba, recruiter, et al, those who just crucified Ainge? All told, I'd rather the relative calm of the board and a great team, but in truth, the exchanges were fun back then.

It's been a long summer. All that's left is the 15th roster spot. Not exactly earth shattering stuff remains to be resolved roster-wise, though I'd still like a big backup SF and a vet PG personally. Training camp is near and talk will pick up.

Maybe a couple of semi-OT's will get things going. I'll think of something...

Granted it is the offseason, but this board became half as busy as soon as we became contenders and got KG. I remember in 05-06 game threads used to go like 50 or 60 pages, now you're lucky if they get over 15.

More winning ---> less complaining ----> less active threads
all is amplified in the offseason.

Right on, Andy. Simply put, we're in a good place (to echo the immortal words of Peggy Olson from "Mad Men" this past Sunday).

This board will never die and is by far the best Cs-related discussion on the Internet. I post on a couple other Cs-related message boards/blogs and the level of writing and intelligent argument on RealGM is unmatched anywhere...

Heh. I made a similiar comment in the other thread. Truth is well the C's are doing well this board is quiet. We are reduced to speculating about who the third PG will be. Its not that thrilling. If we were a 24 win team again the board would be filled with excitement.

As I said in the championship year - I will trade a quiet board for a championship anytime.

Exactly why I thought it was outrageous when other fan bases claimed that Boston were bandwagoners after getting KG. As Mencius pointed out there was a time of "great debates" back in the early 2000's however curently there isn't much dissenting views on the orginization.

It's the offseason, things will pick up once the season starts, there was really no news this summer, after sheed, there really has not been all that much to write about, once the season comes, the board will be lit up.

I used to post a lot more but something strange happened..... The Celtics got good. I used to read this board and use it as a "support group". If they only draft the right player or make a good trade the Celtics would be back I thought. Celtics are great now so I dont need the support. People around me are more into the Celtics than they use to be.
I guess I'll be back in a few years once the big three retires.

I was coming here multiple times a day during the race for Sheed and then when we got Daniels to agree to sign but got bored when it took so long for him to actually sign.

BREAKING: I heard from a guy who knows someone whose brother used to work at 31 Flavors with a guy whose uncle works at WEEI, and he said that Lester Hudson just sharted!

Its the dead time in sports in my eyes...only the sox really making any news. Once pats reg season starts, Red Sox playoffs, and NBA pre-season starts then il get excited about sports again.

Is it October yet?
