For those of you that have never seen him play, he's a great rebounding big who can bang a bit inside. He played for our pro team in New Zealand.

He's a better player than Sean Marks (New Orleans Hornets) so I'm not too sure why he's never been given a shot....... I started thinking about him after seeing David Anderson got digned by the Rockets.

Ben Pepper? Sean Marks? David Anderson? New Zealand is a great country but Kiwi's regard basketball the same way Americans think of Vegemite. I can't believe Ben Pepper is interrogating discussion somewhere in the world. That is an amazing revelation but I would be more interested to know why the toilet flushes the opposite way.

It doesn't; toilet water flushes in whichever direction you want it to. Turn the pipe thingy around so that it sprays the other way, and hey presto, the water flushes the other way. There is a small amount of the Coriolis effect that goes on, but its effect is so tiny that it is indistiguishable to the eye.

Since living in both the USA and New Zealand I realized that the toilet water spins the opposite way despite the direction of "the pipe thingy." On the basketball front, Ben Pepper's impact on the game of basketball is so meager it's indistinguishable to the eye

Speaking of New Zealand, trade checker is being kind of stupid for me right now. Can anyone tell me whether or not trading Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine for Flossy the Sheep works straight up, or do we need to get a third team involved? I know all the haters say Flossy is too old, but the locker room chemistry alone makes it worth it, not to mention all the free high quality wool the Celtics will ever need.

I heard Ainge had both Pepper and Josip Sesar in for private workouts in the past few weeks. And is torn between which one to go with. Tough decision.

No it was more about the uncanny way you magically post in any thread on the topic I mentioned, anyone can just drone on and on about anything but you sir have a niche.

As much as I would love to see one of my fellow country men play for the mighty Green, this is unfortunately a ridiculous notion. He must be in his mid to late thirties by now, he was never anything more that decent (even in the Australian national comp whose standard has been steadily declining for the last ten years).

Why are we talking a late, late second round pick from what, 13 years ago?

After a quick search, my only theory is that the teams in the second round got "Aussie Fever" as the two picks before Pepper were Australian too (Paul Rogers and CJ Bruton) and Chris Anstey went in the middle of the first round as well. Anstey at least did a few nice things the couple of years he was in the league.

Looking at that draft in hindsight, outside of Duncan, Billups, McGrady that is one of the most ordinary lists I can remember seeing. I can't believe we missed out on drafting Blount by one pick.

Factor in how long it took for Billups and McGrady to develop, and it is truly astounding how bad that draft was.

I used to play junior cricket with Big Ben in Gero, when I moved towns he was only about 6"3 tops if not less, next I heard he was drafted the the C's and was like near on 7"0 or so I couldn't believe how quick he shot up. I think hes a handy if not decent NBL player at best but certainly no NBA player.

@ Ed bad luck to the Blues last night too mate thought they had it, I'm a West Coast fan so was rooting for Brissy anyway. AFL is still the best game on earth imo with the NBA coming a close second.
