Is Antonio Daniels worth bringing in?

Wiretap says the Hornets might want to dump a little salary by getting rid of Antonio Daniels.
He certainly was an underrated guy some years back -- but does he have enough left to be worth trading other bench depth for?

He's better than any of the free agent options left really... depends whether he would be happy in such a limited role, would have to check how much he played last season
edit -
he only played 12 mins a game last season, and is on the last year of his deal
Scal/TA works... not sure how NO go about saving much money on an already expiring deal though

hes safe at least... you know if Rondo was in foul trouble or something and we needed a guy to get the ball over the court and make good passes he could do that

wouldnt be opposed to seeing him backup rondo. probably one of the best options left at this point.

Send them Scal and TA and a million bucks and it makes sense for both sides, they can even cut scal and he can re-sign with us at the minimum if they really want, he would agree to a buyout where he will make the same total amount to go back to the celts

TA/Scal for Daniels will only save NO about $700,000 (1.4 mil with the tax). But they are really thin at SG especially defensively, they have had some interest in TA in the past so perhaps they would view at as an improvement on the floor at a lower price.

Yes, Daniels would be a great pick-up. Four years ago, when the C's signed Scal (5/15) and Dickau (with the remaining portion of the MLE), Boston could've had Daniels with that money. I would easily trade Scal/TA for him right now.

Its hard to believe he was the second pick in the draft, it was also hard to believe we got the third and fith picks in that draft WTF!

The thing with Daniels is that he isn't a shooter and he isn't really capable of staying in front of lightning quick guards. I think he would add some value especially in TA's place if Tony is expected to be a primary ball handler. But TA is a much more capable on ball defender against anyone, and they are the same type of shooter so the idea of either of them playing with Marquis kind of sucks.
This is were we come back to Lue, excellent 3 pt shooter, capable of staying in front of fast pgs, and a steady ball handler. He is also a guy who has shown that ability to not play for two weeks and step in and start and everything in between.

He was 4th and we had 3 and 6, if he became a Celt then 3-6 and 10 all would have been Celts in their careers.

I think the reason Lue rejected the offer in Europe is because he is headed to Boston. He's coming back to the NBA anyway, why not play with his good buddy KG? I think Lue has a higher probability of wearing green than Daniels.

Wouldn't be too bad. We clear a roster spot, meaning we can sign Hudson. He can't really shoot and we'd have 2 non-shooting wings in Daniels and...Daniels (Daniels^2, I'd do it just to have two guys with the same last name on the team)

Hornets fans thought Daniels would at least end up a bit better than Mike James (who was traded for Daniels) but Daniels provided absolutely nothing for the Hornets. He provided absolutely no relief for Chris Paul. It would suck to have to pay a guy that won't give you anything. I hope the Hornets get rid of him. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the rookies end up providing more production than Daniels. I've been hoping all of the offseason that both he and Devin Brown get the eff outta there.

The guy at 5 that we didn't draft is the only one who did anything for us.

It certainly is not a set of lottery picks you want to be collecting unless you get number 1.
