So I made a bet

Post#1 » by Hemingway » Tue Sep 15, 2009 7:17 am

Tonight at the bar I was going on about how great the celtics are gonna be this season and told a friend that I changed my prediction of Celtics oer Lakers in 7 to Celtics over Lakers in 6. He bet me 20 bucks it would be the Cavs or Lakers to win it all and said I could pick one other team to make it fair. I thought of taking the Magic but went with the Spurs. Was this the right choice?

Yes, the Spurs was the right choice. Orlando wouldn't have been in the conversation for me.

I made a bet last year that if Celtics won the finals my buddy owed me a 100 bucks, if Spurs won the finals I owed him a hundred. We renewed the bet again this year.

I think those are the four teams with the best chance at winning it all. Conventional wisdom probably has the Lakers and Cavs 1 and 2 but personally I think the Cavs are over rated (and I like the Shaq trade). C's "should" be the favorites in the East and the Lakers in the West. The runners up should be the Cavs and Spurs and I think the Spurs have a better chance than do the Cavs. So good bet.

Now can I have a beer?

I don't know what you find funny jack-for-brains.

Jack for brains?
WOW thats not a nice thing to say now is it junior?
Im laughing at your post cause I think your post is a joke. Your picking the Spurs to win it all or picking them to come out the West. I think thats funny, but I dont want to derail by arguing or discussing about the Spurs over the Cs board now do I? So lets play nice and act like this never happened.
COOL?

Did you even read this thread? His friend took the Lakers & Cavs. He had to take the Celtics and another team. I said the Spurs was a good choice. At no point did I pick the Spurs to win the title or come out of the West. All I said, is that after LA, Boston & Cleveland, San Antonio is a better choice than Orlando. At least the Spurs are the 2nd best team in their conference.

That's exactly what I was thinking. No need for a second team.

Forget it. Its just not worth arguing specially on another board.
