West was pulled over by police on his 2009 Can-Am Spyder motorcycle in Brandywine, Md., at 10 p.m. Thursday night for excessive speed and making an unsafe lane change. A Prince George's County police spokesman said West had two handguns and a shotgun in his possession and he cooperated with police as he was placed under arrest. He has been released on his own recognizance.

No he's not.

When the zombies overrun the planet you'll wish you had a shotgon and 2 handguns with you on your motorcycle, Delonte was just being prepared, that or he heard someone had robbed Popeye's chicken and was going to bring the offender to hard justice (see his vday article a couple of years back)

I love basketball, but it's becoming harder it seems every year to cheer for these guys. It almost seems like you'd post your land "No NBA players may enter, all others welcome" just to keep your family and friends safe. Hard to imagine these guys are paid millions to play a game. I know that lumps the good and the bad unfairly together, but as a league the NBA sure seems to have more than their share of trouble.

it's fine for me to sit in my ivory tower and say what a freakin moron but the fact is many of these nba guys (like delonte) come from not-so-posh upbringings, and they are still young and still have ties to the hood for better or worse. i can see the need to feel protected when going out alone, just ask paul pierce. not saying the best or smartest way to do it is to carry three large-caliber weapons but i can see the thought process.

I think I've seen Delonte's parents at one of the games. I don't think he comes from a dysfunctional family. Plus he has money now, no need to be in whatever sort of mess he is in.
