Nice story of one of our ex celtics, I always liked Rodney, it sucked he was only here a half season but he played hard every game.

What happened to Rodney was awful but he never let it get the best of him and that's why he's a special person. As a basketball player, the dude was ill and if Paul Gaston wasn't the owner at this point in time, the Celts surely would've re-signed him.

Poor guy had his whole life ahead of him. He wasn't out drunk driving or anything malicious. ATV's are just dangerous, simple fact. It is sad.

I always liked Rodney as a player and he seemed like a great guy too. There was a TV profile on him recently and just watching that brought tears to my eyes. He does have a very devoted wife and I hope that NBA and the players take good care of Rogers for the rest of his life.

I am suprised I had missed this story (of him getting hurt.) I always liked him. I can't remember the details of him leaving Boston though. I thought it was that he didn't want to resign or something like that. I remember being upset by it but it may have just been because we essentially than traded JJ for Delk.
