Obviously I believe Pierce will have his #34 jersey retired, but will Ray Allen have his #20 jersey retired or KG have his #5 Jersey retired?

If we win the championship this year and spend another few years with the team, they are a guarantee. Not sure about there chances if they were to retire right now, though.

Yes, this is the Boston Celtics we retire everyone's number, well at least those that win titles. I think we will have to go to some sort of ring of honor thing so that guys will not have to start wearing triple digits, Ainge has mentioned this in the passed.

KG will have his retired in Minny, where he spent like 12 seasons. Ray has a shot though.

I think both are long shots, Ray in particular is a real long shot. Although the Celtics have retired a lot of numbers, they've had a lot of champions. I'm just not sure they'll have enough games in a Celtics uniform to have numbers retired, Ray being a couple of years older is going to really be challenged. If KG's body holds up and he's interested in an extension, he might get in the games though.
2 years ago there was a some question if Pierce would be retired, and even without a championship he would have been one of the highest career scorers. Not sure if I agreed with that, but it points to it being (now) a hard thing to have your number retired.

It'll take one more ring.
It's THEIR number.

The Celts retired Jim Loscutoff and Cedric Maxwell so, if they have the chance to retire KG and Ray Allen, they'll do it. I agree, Sonic Youth, that KG played too long in Minny not to be retired there.
Can a player's # be retired in two cities?

The Heat retired Jordan's number why not.
He is a scavenger hunt who is the shortest tenured Celtic to have his number retired?

I don't know why it bothers me so much but please, for the love of god, change it from THERE Numbers to THEIR Numbers.

If I'm Garnett, I would want Minnesota to step forward first and retire his number twenty-one. This number should be revered by present day players and future players that play for the Minnesota franchise. Twenty-one is a common jersey number, but I do feel that it's somewhat synonymous with Garnett like Tim Duncan or Dominique Wilkins. But I reckon it'll depend on you as far as which decade or era you grew up in as a NBA fan.
Ray isn't such an obvious answer. When I think of Ray Allen, I think of him being with Milwaukee.
Right now, Pierce is the only current Celtic that has earned the right to have his jersey number retired or considered for retiring someday. The problem I would've with both Garnett and Ray having their jersey numbers retired with Boston is for the reason I wrote about Garnett. That is to say, when I think of Pierce, I think of Boston. Conversely, when I think of either Garnett or Ray, I don't think of Boston. Something has to be said about the duration of your career that was spent with one team. I feel like that decision comes down to that marque player's choice if it isn't so obvious as it is in Pierce's case.
I would feel honored if I were either player, but Garnett and Ray should want to retire their own numbers. I mean the number five and the number twenty aren't their famous numbers. But, that's my opinion or viewpoint. I can't speak for them so who knows.

It wouldn't feel right having KG get retired here, Ray also but KG needs to retire as a Wolf. That was his only other team whereas Ray had Seattle and Milwaukee

If both players retire Celtics and play at least 5 years I would think yes even without another ring. They will have ended the longest championship drought in franchise history.
In the case of Ray Allen he will not have his number retired anywhere else. He will have spent 6 years in MIL, 5 in SEA that no longer exists, and if he remains, 5 in Boston were he won a title. Beyond the player on the court that Ray has been the person he has been off it deserves to be honored. He should not be a homeless HOF he was not a mercenary free agent he was traded.
Frankly I don't think of Garnett as the same caliber of person as Ray, just a judgment, I love him as a player but I would guess he is capable of holding a grudge. I don't believe he has gone back to MINN either time the last two years, I might be wrong. As I understand it KG did not want to be traded, he wanted an extension and the Wolves decided they had to move on. I do not know if he would be down with having his number retired anytime soon.
In the end for a team that likes to raise jerseys there isn't going to be a lot going up, the last two were Max and Reggie.

If we win a title this year, definitely. If they spend the rest of their careers here (or at least a few more strong years), then also definitely.
