Who will lead the Celts in scoring this year?

Post#1 » by hairybyrd » Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:12 pm

Who will lead the Celts in scoring this year? The depth of our bench means shots will be limited for everyone.

With the fate of KG unknown it appears to be a two-man race between Pierce and Allen but I would be interested to hear everyone's opinion. I could see a case for Rondo and even Perk or Wallace leading the team in scoring, however unlikely.

What does everyone think? I'm going with Ray Allen @ 20 ppg this year.

Extrapolating from college, Lester Hudson will lead the Celtics in scoring with 27 ppg and finish second in the league in that category....

Being serious, it's going to be pretty low. Everyone will be playing fewer minutes this year. The big 3 will probably each put up 15-18 ppg and the difference between them will be basically insignificant. Since Pierce seems to get to the line most often, I would say he has the advantage.

Pierce 21 ppg
Ray 17 ppg
Rondo 15 ppg
KG 14 ppg 7 boards but it will be mainly due to mins being limited early on.

It will be Pierce. It is his team and he will shoulder most of the load. KG doesn't post huge numbers the way we play and he will be the one to see minutes limited with Sheed here. Ray will score a lot but will have more 10 point type games than Paul. Rondo also doesn't score in huge numbers. Perk and Sheed are not worth discussing.

Pierce. Even though he will play less minutes, he still creates in the 4th and will get to the line often.

im really excited for this season because i can see a shift in the way this team is managed.
there are so many offensive threats that it is going to be a massive handful for any team.
on a good day we have pierce, ray, kg, rondo, perk, sheed, daniels, house, and baby that can go
for a 15ppg+ game. if someones game is off they simply don't need to be the focal point of the offense.
All you need is for two of those players to go for 23-25 points and reasonable contributions from the rest of the squad we will win most games. the defensive pressure of Pierce, Garnett, Perk, rondo and Sheed coupled with that balanced offense really gives us a glaring advantage. Im just excited to see this team be nasty as hell. Serious dirty, grimey tough play on the defensive end coupled with the sweet touch our shooters have. damn!

I say it's Ray or Pierce. I don't see anyone of our team averaging more than 17 a game this season. The reason I say that is because we are really deep and minutes for PGA will be down.

i would be surprised if anyone is close to pierce on ppg this year on this team to be honest. not that our players dont have the ability but pierce is the man we go to down the stretch and when he gets it going 30-40 points comes pretty quick for the truth

All of a sudden our top 8 can all score pretty easily. I think we have 5 guys within 3 points of the leader.

I'd have to go with the captain leading with 17.5 ppg. I think we will have 7-8 guys averaging 10+.

Paul Pierce but I think five guys will average double figures.

I't should be a very balanced scoring attack!

I think Pierce will end up being the leading scorer for the team somewhere right around 20 per. Then Allen around 18 and KG around 17.

Pierce will get his points, and will lead the Celtics in scoring for the 53rd consecutive season(God it sure seems like it's been that long..lol). I'd say somewhere between 20-22 PPG...

I don't really see PP playing much less than last year. We always say it, it is always a good idea but at the end of the day it is hard to consistently blow open games and we need to win every one we can.
