...bring back James Posey in a trade for Scal and TA. Keep him for that two year remaining deal, go for it all this year, a little extra insurance and muscle to neutralize the likes of Artest, LeBron, Carter, Jefferson, or even Melo in the playoffs.

Would you?

If they plan to re-sign ray and re-sign rondo... then sure id do it, its not my money lol, if they arent going to have flexibility anyway he obviously adds more good depth and shooting to the bench, i understand management not wanting to pay him what hes owed though

what about trading Rays expiring for GS's problem children in Monta and SJax.... Would you? lol

We'd be so dirty with that bench.

There's no way Truth leaves 19 million (or whatever he's owed), its just to much $$. So we won't be a player in the 2010 class outside our MLE. Plus in 2 years, Posey's 7 million expiring is a great chip in a trade. The FO needs to go for broke and extend Pierce/Ray/KG's careers by having a deep bench.

Would love to see him back with you guys as well.

Man despite being an Orlando fan, I still enjoy watching the C's, especially back when Posey was there - it was nice to see L.A get owned.

So far pretty positive responses to Posey. From how I see it , this is the 2008 team, but better. Everyone one is older, but in the case of the young guys like Perk, Rondo, and Baby, that is an advantage. And we have Sheed and Daniels instead of Brown and Cassell-- an upgrade.

SonicYouth34 is right about the nastiness. The C' could have two guys on the floor at all times with that intense defensive mentality ( Perk/KG, Wallace/Posey). And the downside is losing some flexibility in the market next year. Nevertheless, I'd overpay right now if it meant making a slight increase in chances to win the Championship. If reports about KG's knee being healthy are true we have a great shot at winning it all this year and next.

I doubt we are willing to pay a bench player 6million per year...

OTOH, Nocioni to Boston rumours have resurfaced in Argentina...

Those rumors are partially what inspired this thread.

I'd rather have Posey at 6M for 3 years than Nocioni at 7M for 4.

Plus, Posey already knows the drill here.

:droop: If we somehow got Posey back, banner 18 would be as good as ours with that rotation.

Well, Nocioni has a team option for last contract year, so basically he also has 3 years left. And he is almost 3 years younger...

Still, I would probably take Posey since he was a perfect fit here...

It is a lot of money but when you think about it we are already pay that kind of money to Scal and Tony and not getting close to what Posey would give us off the bench.

The Nocioni thing is pretty rehashed, basically the stuff from Argentina is from the trade deadline in FEB. Daniels and Baby Davis make him pointless.

In all honesty I think if Boston could have moved out Scal's money they would have gone the little bit extra to resign Posey. Even with that 7 mil for Posey in '11-'12 is too much money to tie up in a role player, we just have so many other priorities, essentially that is Perkins money.

I would like to bring in someone useful for the money being spent on Scal and TA but at the same time you have got to balance the now and the future to some extent. I understand doing something aggressive at back up pg we lack depth but at the forward positions neither Posey or Nocioni is likely to crack the PF rotation so they would be limited to backing up Pierce. I would be just as happy to see Walker get those mins.

I also don't think that NO has the intention of moving Posey anymore, they moved Butler instead. They are looking to take on years for lower an average salaries to lower the lux tax burden not scrap their team. They actually have had a very good off season and if healthy will compete for the top spot out West.

I don't see why it hasn't been done yet.

NO wants to dump salary. They've mentioned Posey. TA and Scal are expirings no?

depth this depth that, we have the main backups at 2 and 4 in Sheed and Daniels. Bring Posey back!

I'd love Posey back. Noc would be a great fit as well, IMO. But we know Posey would know his role here. On top of that, there are talks of Julian Wright starting over Peja at the 3. That pretty much means no minutes available for Posey, at his natural position anyway.

And I know what you're thinking, New Orleans has no desire for money, they just want to keep the best team around CP3, but I bet we could still pry him away from them.
