Gorman on CSL

I just heard the Mike Gorman interview on CSL. It's great to hear Mike's voice again.

A few highlights:

Gorman really doesn't know much more than we do about Garnett's knee. He's anxious to watch him (and everyone else) in the exhibitions. He did say he had a conversation with KG and Garnett is confident his knee is ok.

Mike loves the talent on this team calling it the best he's seen in a loooong time.

Big Baby has greatly matured. Gorman felt this himself and heard Doc say the same thing.

Tommy loves Giddens.

Perkins has been working on the hook shot this summer.

Nice job by the CSL guys.

Glad to hear Giddens is getting some love. With Scal, TA, Walker all being injured or injury prone, we're going into the season light on backup wings. I watched the Nets vs.Knicks game yesterday and Chris Douglas-Roberts looks very good--- he's a smart young player--- and I found myself wishing he was picked over Giddens. But Giddends deserves a chance this year, and I hope he gets a few minutes early in the season to show that he belongs.

Thanks, Gant. Extra incentive to listen to the interview. I am a huge Mike fan.

What I really liked from those statements was that Perk was working on a hook shot. Anything Perk has in the paint will help us immensely IMO. Sheed is a CF combo, but chances are, especially early on, he's going to see a lot of time with Perkins, not KG due to limiting Kevin's minutes to start the year one would assume. Sheed loves the perimeter which is great when we have such talented slashers with Pierce and Rondo that are great at finding open shooters on the perimeter. Since Sheed is on the perimeter so often, that's going to cause huge matchup problems for other teams and we will see Perk getting a lot of great looks down low because of it. If he has a move to capitalize on these looks, that will be huge for us. Defenses won't know what to do.

Yea, we seem to be overrun with Magic and Raptor trolls (what else is new) these last couple of weeks...

Just wait till the season starts!
