“Now we’ll show up tomorrow and do what we always do on early games: have 12 pieces of bacon, a Red Bull, and go get ’em.’’ - Terri Francona
Go get 'em.

Maybe that's why they can't get a **** hit, even if they replaced the baseball with a basketball...

The offense was horrible and the problem!!! They need power in the line up, Bay is good but he doesn't scare anyone! Ortiz is running out of juice (pun intended), and Youk and Pedroia came back to earth!
I like Pap but he seemed off the whole year and if you can get something for him then do it cause even though Bard is not a 100% ready he seems to be good enough right now!

I'm hoping Bard steps up big next year and sees an expanded role and hopefully we get something of value out of Papelbon even after such a horrific end to the season.

Rivera blew the 01 series and the 04 ALCS. i hear he still went on to have a pretty decent career.
No need to give up on Papelbon. He's still one of the best. Bard is great but it's a lot different pitching the 9th than the 7th and 8th.
Our problem was offense anyways. Other than the untimely bullpen collapse our pitching was good enough to win. We need to replace Tiz and Lowell with healthy guys. A full year of Martinez with Tek as a backup should help. But our outfield production isn't where it should be since Manny left. We need an Abreu or a Tex, someone who can hit quality pitching in the middle of the order.
