Just wondering guys, does Pierce look slimmer out there?

He looks like he has a lil extra step - but that could be all the rest.

I reckon he is moving better to...maybe just the start of the season...less miles in the legs at the moment...

It's clearly visible that Pierce has lost alot of weight. He looks ALOT slimmer on the upper body part. He's faster and quicker than last year...I actually haven't seen Paul in such good shape in about 4 years. Did you see the reverse jam he threw down against NY? I have not seen Paul do that in years...i remember last year, he gets stuffed by Derrick Rose during the playoffs..he couldn't even jump right...now he is throwing down reverse jams..I love it.. :)

Yeah ... I knew it wasn't only me. I mean he looks really slim upper body; you're right.

However, Doc is right ... Pierce has athletic ability but he - for the most part - uses his foot work fundamentals. We see it surprise us in moments such as:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22NdeOi1w_M - huge facial on Mihm

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEZ4x3R3 ... re=related - dunks on Melo, Camby and Birdman (?)

Yep, and it's a good thing and it makes him look younger, too--since it's been years since he was so slim!

I dunno man. People seem to say this every year about him. I think the Paul and others the travel and eating out take their toll on him through the year.

that dunk was ridiculous. pierce looks so much more explosive off his first step. last time i saw him against orlando i thought he was going to fall apart he was barely moving

You're right, road dining is likely to challenge Pierce and Baby again this year, but Pierce has come in markedly slimmer this fall. Let's hope the improved play is enough incentive to keep them watchful as the season goes on.

I'm just not seeing it... he looks the exact same as last year to me? :-?

I never was good at noticing these things though.

He does look slimmer. On TV not so much but in person it's noticeable. The reverse jam might prove this theory. He never does that. It was great to see.

He was noticably slimmer two years ago too and just put the weight back on.

Tommy actually I think talked about Pierce doing this saying... I think Cooz... used to come into the training camp below playing weight because they went cardio all offseason. And then during the year it would be easy to "eat themselves back into strength". Rather then trying to play themselves down to their playing wait during the season.

I hope this is not Mike Sweetney's strategy. :o

I hope it is. Just park him one the court once per half. Then let him use his "back pockets" for the W!!!

“Just yesterday in the weight room I told him he was starting to look skinny,” Allen said. “You know, Paul has always had like a heavy look, a heavy body. Now you see in his legs he’s slimming down, his upper body is slimming down. I think it’s the natural evolution when you get into your 30s and your metabolism starts to slow down and you start thinking about eating better, getting more sleep, and then your body starts to show it. And then as for us, this schedule is so demanding you really have no choice, your body will tell you you need more rest.” WEEI.com
