A few thoughts from the Raptors game about our team

1. Rondo! He is looking great. The haters can talk all they want to but the guy sees the court as well as anyone and the team looks great with him running the show. I think Mike or Donny said that last year him and KG were second in the league in ally oop connections and thats with KG out 25 games. Watching Rondo reminds me why I love this game.
2. Perk could be a threat on offense this year. He seems to be better at creating room. When KG and Paul cross through the paint, Perk gets open for a second or two. This has always been the case but in the past he could not take advantage. Now he looks lke someone has worked with him on getting wide and sealing his guy off. He also looked better in the post. If he can be a legit threat in the low post we have one of the best teams ever assembled.
3. Tony Who? Is he hurt again or are we just giving up on him? I kind of feel like we need to play him if we want to trade him. We will see.
4. Hudson looks good. I'm not one to get on the rookie bandwagons. I didn't do it for Walker or Giddions but maybe there is something here. He looked good and it would explain why we havent gotten another pg. I dont buy MD will play the point for a second.

I did write Hudson off when drafted...be he has been doing some decent stuff...but I think our instant lil'man offense spot is taken by Eddie H...so will be interesting to see how he goes this year...

I agree on all 4 points all though I was high on walker and less on hudson(but I like his attitude and play so far)

There are no Rondo haters. A few posters don't think he is worth a max contract or an eight figure deal. But thats not hating.. <g> I wish someone would "hate" on me like that.

haha, there may be no haters here....but check out the Raptors board. Whoa!
Talking about hating on KG, Rondo, Pierce etc..
I've never seen so much low class happiness as when they thought KG was injured.
A few bad apples over there make the rest of the fan base look bad, although I guess that happens with every board.

What is it with raptors fans? I've been to Toronto and found it to be a nice place to visit, very friendly and a generally relaxed place....why are they stuck pricks? In this forum anyways?
I know the C's are a good target for haters....but the Raptors.....was more of a Vancouver Griz fan myself......hey, wheres Big Country Reeves these days?

my number one thought is "what's up with the Raptor fans?". They sure want us to be rivals but I'm just not seeing it and it has nothing to do with the quality of their team. They have a lot of good players and could be an excellent team but just because Raptor fans want a rivalry with the Celtics doesn't make it so. I can only assume that it's because we are the closest NBA city to Toronto and that there is a carryover effect from hockey. Our historic rivals were the Knicks,Sixers and Lakers and trust me if the Knicks and SIxers get good again that rivalry will flourish. Our current rivals are Cleveland,Lakers, Detroit and Orlando. There's just not enough rivlary juice left for Toronto and frankly their attempts to create one are wearing thin. Good luck Raptor fans but go pick on someone else for a while

It's all the culturally imposed Canadian politeness and bonhomie. Makes the Internet a perfect outlet for repressed aggression.

Many Raptors fans feel a career-threatening injury to any prominent Celtic is justified because of Garnett taunting Calderon/Gerald Green's ostentatious dunking/other trivial things fans of recent expansion teams entrenched in mediocrity get worked up over

I think the KG hate mostly comes from him taunting Calderon (and other white players). Even when Bonner knocked him over while he was in Minne, I don't think there was that much hate for him.
Most fans were rejoicing that Bosh showed some toughness and bowled over two players, not the fact that KG was injured. It's not like KG was on the floor rolling in pain, he was walking around fine. If it looked like a serious injury, I'm sure the reaction would have been different..although, there are still a lot of stupid fans out there.
Saying "Raptor fans" shows a lack of wisdom, because you're going to find (Please Use More Appropriate Word) 13-20 year old kids in every city. You'll even find 20-80 year olds that are quite stupid and immature. Might as well say every Boston fan talks like Tommy Homer and acts like KG.
Apparently, there's also a lot of people that have trouble detecting the level of seriousness in posts.
Anyhow, I've never really been impressed by Boston's bench. Only two that are worthy are Big Baby and Rasheed imo (am I missing anyone?). The rest are more easily replaceable.

I'm just glad they don't hate the lakers as much as they hate the celtics, or i'd probably be banned from there.

Marquis Daniels and Eddie House, who make a symbiotic tandem with each covering up the other's weakness.

daniels was a great pickup.
i could do without eddie house. he makes damon jones seem like a pretty humble guy.
