Stephen Jackson?

Post#1 » by magee » Sat Oct 24, 2009 11:47 pm

Not a rumor, just a question. Considering the Celtics have three of the biggest eff you guys in Pierce, Garnett and Sheed, would a trade for Jackson make sense? Scal, Tony Allen, Big Baby (can't be dealt until Dec. 15th) and Bill Walker works. Doubt Golden State does it, but could anyone else get a kick out of this happening? Plus they add a legit defender and proven vet who can help Daniels spell both Jesus and PP. Who knows. Just one of those random thoughts.

It could happen, but I doubt it does, unless maybe a Law for House swap is included, and Walker stays.

So something like:

Giddens + House + Scalabrine + Big Baby + 2nd for Jackson + Law

Rondo/Law/Daniels
Allen/Jackson/Daniels
Pierce/Jackson/Daniels
Garnett/Sheed/Williams
Perkins/Sheed/Williams

One of THE best, most solid 10 man rotations. That's extreme depth at every position, especially if Sweetney can be an okay enough big to play spot minutes if necessary, and there's still Walker to take wing minutes behind all those guys. Extremely talented team, that would probably challenge the 72-10 Bulls record with ease.

Just stop. Every time his name comes up in a article, we get this crap. We're not bringing him in.

Yeah how dare you ask hypothetical basketball trade questions to the "real GM" forum!

Jackson would have gotten great consideration from us if we hadn't signed Marquise Daniels. I think the Cs are happy with the wing rotation and wouldn't be willing to take on his contract at this point.

As of right now, it doesn't make too much sense. We have Pierce, Allen, Daniels at the wings right now. I don't think Jackson would be happy playing 20-25 minutes a game. And for us, he would be a really expensive luxury for those minutes. Maybe we would look into this if either Pierce or Allen get injured, but as of right now you would be getting a guy who would be a very expensive backup and probably become a distraction in the future because I don't think he would be willing to accept that role.

Just FYI, Nellie has a chubby for A.Law right now, and we know Nellie - he would trade his children before a player on his roster hes man-crushing on.

The player from GSW I would love is Azubuike.

Right now I say no way, that doesn't mean 4 months from now or 4 weeks from now I won't change my mind.
