Yep, Boston Herald broke the story:
http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/bask ... ody_fight/Baby's friend got drunk, got stupid, threw the first punch, and a tussle ensued. Baby wasn't intoxicated according to authorities. Sounds like a regrettable incident, but not entirely Glen's fault if he was hit first...that said, a lesson has been learned...he'll get a fine.

Whatever. Suspend his ass and teach him a lesson. Better yet, get rid of him permanently.

You don't get rid of him after this. You just paid his tuition.

I think Wyc flying off the handle might be the most regrettable part of this.
Maybe his wife should ask him what he would have done?

I heard this same story earlier today from a friend of a friend who works with Gerald Henderson's son. I didn't want to post it here because it was unconfirmed. I'm glad Glenn wasn't drunk and it sounds like he was just defending his girl. I'm totally cool with that as long as that is how it actually went down. I would think a fine of about $25K would be in order. No need to suspend him further; he's already missing enough time.

I think the idea of the suspension is similar to what the Warriors did to Ellis not pay him while he is out injured.

Bottom line, you shouldn't be out at 4am a couple days before the season opener when you are competing for a championship because nothing good every happens. He should be suspended.

At least it's more respectable than just getting into a random fight at a party. He was sober, his friend was drunk, and he was defending his girl. He's in the wrong for being in that situation, but anyone who was should have acted the same way. I'd still say suspend him for a bit, to teach him to not get into those situations again, but don't get down on him about it.

Most shocking thing here is Big Baby has a Girlfriend. I would have bet he swung from the other side of the plate.

if it's possible to feel better about this I do since Glen was defending himself and his girlfriend. His biggest mistake seems to having a best friend who is an a hole and who just cost glen a bunch of money not to mention screwing the celtics in the process. In this world it's all about who you hang out with and if you hang out with the wrong dudes you're going to get in trouble.

A fine.....a short suspension.....keep his ass in the gym to keep him in shape. The club need not suffer Glen not being out of shape when his hand is ready. The thumb was not as bad as thought, I heard from WEEI.

No need to get down on him. It is a life lesson and Davis needs to learn from it. He gets a short suspension, which will only cost him money. Hopefully he will learn from this.

After reading what happened I think you guys are being a bit too hard on him. I mean he wasnt drunk, he was the designated driver, he went out on a Sat night and the party went on till Sunday. His boy was talking ish to his girl and he didnt throw the first punch. In fact he defended himself.
To me he did what he had to do, anyone with a bit of a back bone would defend his girl specially when your boy starts talking ish and picks a fight with her and you.
What are you suppose to do back down cause your a NBA player? Who cares, its your honor that your defending. Also keep in mind ish can happen all the time. Unfortuantly this was out of his hands and he did what he had to do.
Just my take on it. Thats all. It happened and now its time to move on.

Not out of his hands. Your 'friend' starts acting that way. You leave your friend.
You have to have more foresight about who you are and who you want to be.
