Ray is playing way too much. Either make a trade, play MD more or give JR a shot. Ray will burn out if he keeps this up.

Realistically there is no need for it either, yeh he spreads the floor and even if hes not scoring he has to be guarded, but even just running off the ball is gonna wear him down eventually..

between Pierce, Daniels and House we can easily cover Ray getting extended time on the bench, even having Sheed should have some impact on Rays minutes as we have another shooter on the floor

i agree though, the regular season rotation should have very organized and spread out minutes.. im hoping this is just because Doc is adjusting to Quis and is comfortable with Ray, but i would like to see Daniels playing a solid 25 minutes a night

Rondo should also be playing more. That'll keep Ray's mins down as well.

yeah it's really sad seeing Ray trying to come off screens hobbling along with his cane. poor guy looks as fragile as monty burns with pneumonia.

oh wait, you mean he's one of the best conditioned athletes in the nba who regularly comes in and practices full speed for hours before games?

damn. who'd a thunk it?

Doc wants to win. So he needs some shooters out there.

I guess its time to make a trade then and bring in another shooter. Rasual Butler, James Jones, Charlie Bell, Morris Peterson or someone like any of the players I've listed.

Ray's playing more mins than Dwayne Wade, who has very little behind him for players

That is true but I would still like to see him play less mins when posible it seems to me he was burnt out the last 2 playoffs. In 08 I really think the week off between the ECF and Finals was beneficial to him although it didn't hurt that he was being guarded by Sasha as well.

I agree. This has to change. I don't care how well conditioned he is because he is on the wrong side of 30. Its November 1st. Marathon not a race. And most importantly, Daniels/House don't hurt us in their minutes.

Doc himself said he needed to resist the temptation to play the big 3 too many minutes early in the season, however he is cleary not taking his own advice, none fo the big 3 should ever play more then 36 minutes of a non overtime game. Ray is the oldest he should not be hitting 40+ minutes, we have a great 3 point shooter of the bench in house, we have a solid 2 gaurd as well as daniels, Doc needs to utilize the bench a little better. If he doesnt trust giddons with 5 minuets a game we need to trade for someone doc will trust becuase we need all our older players to have their legs come playoff time.

What botherd me about todays game was that daniels who has been playing decently recently if not spectaculerly played less then 20 minutes, take 3 minutes from ray and 3 from peirce and their minutes get alot closer to reasonable.

This is not rocket science rondo is the only starter who should play more then 36 mpg the goal should be for the big 3 to all average about 32 minutes a game, this will make them more effective in the 4th quarter through out the season and give them more energy come playoff time and reduce the risk of injury.

Doc, let the old guys get their rest whether they want it or not, seriously.

You know I'm with you guys on this, just feel like I'll wait a month and see where were at then with the minutes. It's opening week, I'm not too concerned about it at the moment.

Think he put Ray in for the Captain last night for a while in the 4th because Pierce was not coming out on Peja.

All of our horses wore down in the playoffs, Pierce as much as Ray. If the injury bug happens again, as is likely, it'll still happen this year. It can't be avoided the way the team is built.

I don't want to see JR out there until he proves he can play, which he hasn't.

Tony Allen would be a big help if his motor gets going.
