OT-Iverson is already complaining..

"I had no problems (with the hamstring). I had a problem with my butt sitting on that bench for so long," Iverson told the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

When a reporter suggested that the Grizzlies' bench needed Iverson's scoring punch, he disagreed.

"No. I'm not a bench player. I'm not a sixth man," Iverson added. 'Look at my resume and that'll show I'm not a sixth man. I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am. I don't want to change what gave me all the success that I've had since I've been in this league. I'm not a sixth man. And that's that."

I like Allen Iverson..I think he is a great basketball player, but damn....it was his 1st game back. He played well yesterday in limited minutes (17 minutes, 11 pts, 5-9 shooting)...eventually, he would get the starting job there..what the hell is his problem? As an Allen Iverson fan, I'm pretty dissapointed in his actions...

I laugh at his 'what gave me all the successI've had' comment....what success? ASG's? MVP? Scoring titles? How many rings????? He is weighting personal achievement more than team achievement....thats the difference between guys like AI and guys like KG and TD of similar vintage...they undersatnd u need a team, not a one....I am so glad we dodge the AI bullet a few years ago...

My hot tip for the future....is AI goes all Starbury on the NBA....and goes a lil loopy

He's complaining because his team lost with him on the bench.

The best non-trade in Celtics history was holding onto Al Jefferson and our lotto pick instead of handing them over for the "honor" of having this image-obsessed twat on our team. I remember the badly-photoshopped images of "I vs. Everyone" in Celtic green and wanting to throw up.

He deserves to be where he is. Hope Heisley's happy with all the AI jerseys he's selling, because anyone with a brain knows that's 1) The only reason AI is on the team, and 2) Revenue is the only thing that matters to him. I've read interviews with him, and I swear to God I've never seen him discuss ANYTHING that remotely pertains to winning basketball games. EVERYTHING is about salary cap, revenue shares, etc.

To paraphrase Iverson's comments: "I'm not being selfish, it's just that it's all about me!"

I've never been a fan of AI. He's ALWAYS been like this. The ONLY team he had success on, the Sixers squad that went to the Finals, was a perfect team for him. He was able to have the ball in his hands at ALL times, and didn't have to share, which is what he wants. And he still wants that, even though he's a shadow of his former self.

He needs to realize he's not the MVP AI anymore and that he's a 6th man on a bad team AI.

He's just an idiot. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that there was more to the issues in Detroit, but no. It was one game that he's come off the bench. ONE! Unreal the way his mind works. Imagine if Conley just got benched and Iverson took all his minutes, how bad would that look and how pissed would Mike Conley be?! That's what AI wants. He's selfish, nothing else to it.

Wow, never saw this coming...

Who would've thought Iverson would have a problem coming off the bench behind Mike Conley and OJ Mayo?

I agree with the comments above, Ive is acting like a D-bag...

But maybe he'd lighten up on the C's. I'll offer Scal, a 2012 2nd rounder, the new Lucky and a Gino t-shirt.

As much as I disagree with Iverson's attitude, I agree that he shouldn't be sitting the bench when the Grizz are losing to the Kings in overtime. That's gotta be tough to watch.

There's a photo of 5 or so Grizzlies sitting down (Mayo, Gay, and Iverson among them), and I find it hysterical that AI and Mayo are each holding a basketball. It's like they couldn't decide who would hold the ball, so they just brought in another to appease someone's ego.
