Larry Bird vs Dr. J. fight- 25 years ago

It was 25 years ago yesterday, when Bird torched Dr. J. for 42 points in less than 3 quarters. Bird was trash talking and a fight broke out. It was a more like a 3 on one with Bird vs Dr. J., Moses, and Barkley.

Ahhhh the good old days...I would say I miss them, but I wasn't around when they were..so I just wish it was still the same now..just imagine Shaq and Mo Williams holding Kobe while LeBron knocked him in the grill...what a thing of beauty.. :lol:

I was around when this happened, and yes it does bring back fond memories.

Among other things, fond memories of all the trash talking Bird did when he was in the league. He didn't back down to anyone.

Man, times have changed...No handchecking, No clotheslining, You can't punch out the other teams center because he's a jerk...what's this world coming too?

I love watching old Celtics clips. I also love how Mike and Tommy are the announcers for that game too. I sometimes forget they've been commentating for so long.

Yeah. That was weak of Dr J. That was also weak of Moses and Barkely to hold Bird like that. And where were the Celtic teammates. McHale should have punched Dr. J. Kevin was the closest one to him. Got to love Bird, he didn't back down and wanted to go after Dr J.

LOL, J was playing awful defense that whole time. He deserved to get torched.

THOSE were the days when they let the players play like men...they still remembered back then basketball was a contact sport... 8-)

Stayed that way til the late 90's. I can only imagine how many fouls would have been called on hand checks.
