Signing Rasheed was a mistake

He's 36 years old and has no legs anymore. He stands behind the arc and chucking up 3s. It doesnt matter if we are up by 5 or down 10, he shots while his opponents hands on his face. I dont mind if these are wide opens, but most of his threes are bad choices. He cant rebound neither. And celtics'll pay this guy until he's 39?
watching him make me sick while perk sits, RW just should cut his three points attempts and must play inside more.

Sheed pretty well has a gentlemens agreement with Doc. DOc is letting him save his body by shooting threes but after the allstar game Sheed will play on the block more...book it.

Hey, reactionary threads are back on the Celtics board.
Yaaaaay!

it's not a reaction to a loss. It's his game, i was thinkng same thing when he hit 6 3 pointers against sixers.
live by 3 die by three is not a perfect strategy for this team.
I know this spreading floor for PP and Ray that we need his 3pointers and I'm ok with 2 or 3 attempts per game but over 6 attempts ? come on this's just stupid. by the way he is not ray allen or reggie miller and he should know that. He supposed to be our big.

The game we are interested in is his D. That seems to be working out fine.
We are 7-2, and if it gets out of control we have KG to pull the leash.
When its 60 games into the season and KG can get meaningful minutes on the bench..I'm fine with the 3 ball.
To be fair to you SQ, he is jacking them up.

the thing makes me angry is his lazyness on offnse. He was good on the low blok so far,
whatever , like you said as long as kg gets rest it's fine
though i'd prefer... lol

Signing Rasheed was not a mistake. He comes with his pros and cons like anyone else.
cons:
-may lose temper and get technicals
-has no conscience @ 3 pt line
pros:
-effective in low post (although he's rarely down there)
-good defender
-provides an extra body for "insurance"
-can stretch the defense with his outside shooting

Sheed is a lazy chucker on offense. I made that point in the beginning of the season. Looks like a few people are starting to agree with me.
But he does bring depth, size, and reasonable d. So for the MLE i wouldn't put him in the mistake category. Just not as good as the consensus would have you believe.

We lose to a bunch of punks that made every contested shot, and here come the complaints....
Anyoone who thinks we should not have gotten Sheed...the best free agent bigman....should probably do themselves a favor and watch the Knicks for the rest of the season.

whann whannn whannn 3s 3s 3s just like Walker whaaan.
Give me a **** break.
Are you watching what he's doing defensively? That alone makes him as valuable as any bench player we've had to support this core.
ANYTHING offensively is gravy. He could be Sheldon Williams on offense and then he'd just be an unappreciated defensive stud backup Center.
But because he shoots 3s people and has 1 post move he could use instead people have to bitch.

I would also like to see Sheed play more in the post but calling his signing a mistake is a real exaggeration. MLE money for a 3-time all-star w/ 2 Finals appearances is about as good as it gets it the NBA. Who would you rather have? Mike Sweetney? Bobby Swift?

I'm traveling overseas and haven't seen any games for a while, but it's obvious from the box score that the loss was all about rebounding.
In particular, offensive efficiency was not the problem.

I've been critical of Sheed but a mistake? Absolutely not. It's a very solid signing for not a lot of money.

If the Celtics didn't sign him somebody else would have... Imagine if Sheed was in San Antonio right now...

=he doesn't play inside
rasheed 3 rebounds
=thanks to his teammates
rasheed 3 blocks,
=must have been a typo by NBA.com

Sheed with help this team. But I said it before and I'll say it again, BBD is better than Sheed at this point in their careers. We need BBD. This team is struggling offensively, and that's where BBD will help. Shelden is not an offensive player. Can't wait til BBD comes back. BBD and Sheed will be nice together.

Sheed has been a great addition. 10/4/1/.9/.8 off the bench is pretty good. Sure he shoots a lot of 3s, but that was to be expected and part of the design of our offense. Having a big who can play really good defense and then stretch the floor on offense in a nice luxury. He is just going through a cold streak from the 3, when he goes through a hot streak everyone will love him again. The bench has been great of us most of the games, and Sheed is the key to that. He has already been a difference maker when we played Cleveland, and he will make a big impact when we play Orlando/LA as well.

sheed has been fine off the bench. he's hot and cold, just like eddie. that's how bench players are. if he was a starter we'd be in more trouble. he still has some post game, but he is chucking too much. i think doc and the players will get this more under control as the season goes on.
in the end he is a legit big who plays good D and can score. that's a luxury to have off the bench.

It is funny how people seem to quickly forget the days of the immortal Mikki Moore coming off the bench for our bigs.
