SEMI OT: Would DA consider this?
so rumor is that Sac and New Orleans are talking about a Kenny Thomas/Okafor swap. That basically just looks like a salary dump to me. If thats all New Orleans is looking for would Danny call em up offering our expirings. Ive heard some people say he is overpaid but the guy is a double double machine who plays good D and blocks 2 shots a game. A core of Rondo/Okafor/Perk post big 3 wouldnt be the worst thing...

Re: SEMI OT: Would DA consider this?
We don't have the expirings to get it done and a deal like that would basically mean we let Ray Ray walk after the season. I just can't see them adding another $10+ million guy and reupping Allen. I'd rather keep Ray for another year and contend for championships. Rondo/Okafor/Perk would be the most offensively inept core in the league as well, but it could work if they somehow built a team similar to the 2001 76ers where they pounded the glass, played tough D, and primarily relied on Iverson to score in volume with efficient but unspectacular team mates. This would also require getting an elite scorer to go along with those guys..

I'd love it, but we'd have to include Sheed to get it done, which I'm fine with, but NO wants expirings.

We should try it if they just want expiring. It's not easy to get a 10/10/2 C/F.
And I wonder if they would like to package CP3 together.

actually we do have the expirings. house/ta/scal/and baby would work for okafor im pretty sure. baby isnt expiring but he is a pf they would need with losing okafor and he is on a decent deal.

Re: SEMI OT: Would DA consider this?
Okafor is making 10.6 Mill, so we need 8.4 Mill (8.4*1.25+0.1=10.6).
Tony Allen makes 2.5 and he is expandable
Brian Scalabrine makes 3.4 and he is expandable
Then we need 2.5 more Mill, there are 2 options:
1.Eddie House makes 2.8 but we need him. Maybe NO will be ready to buy him out and he can come back after a month
2. We can package Shelden, Giddens and Walker but i doubt NO has enough roster spots for 5 players
Note: We can't add Baby's 2.5** (his also expandable if we bring Okafor)
*Baby just signed a new contract which means he is a BYC (base year compensation) which means in trade he counts only as half of his contract (1.25) which wont be enough for this trade without adding another 2 players and that will make it the same as option 2 but with more years on Baby's contract...
If they are in an extremly bad situation (money wise) then maybe they will want so alos add CP3 for Ray allen, but they can get much more then wxpiring for him, so thats not realy a possibility....

If CP3 on the table, I am happy to drive Rondo to the Longan airport.

Re: SEMI OT: Would DA consider this?
I don't think we can afford to straight up add Okafor's salary, so Perk would probably have to go to New Orleans in the deal.

Re: SEMI OT: Would DA consider this?
I think it's ok. With Okafor's contract and Ray resign at MLE, the team salary is about 80M. This season is 84M. It is not that bad. And Pierce's contract expire at 2011. That is also a huge pay cut.
I would love to have Perk-KG-Okafor-Wallace front court. That is GREEN MONSTERs

Re: SEMI OT: Would DA consider this?
A package of Scal, Tony, House and Baby is about the best we can come up with but it's definitely a better deal than Kenny Thomas. I'd be very reluctant to give up House but if we have the chance to add another solid young piece like Okafor, we would have to do it.
IF we added Okafor, DA would probably only be willing to give Allen about $5 million per year so I'm not sure how that would all work out. And we have to re-sign Quis and possibly Shelden. That's a lot of payroll.

Then teams could employ the Hack-A-Pack against us!
