OT: Memphis to waive Iverson...

Well, Memphis did just sign Tinsley...
Memphis announced Monday that the team has ended its one-year contract with the 10-time All-Star and former league MVP in what it called a mutual agreement. Iverson was not placed on waivers by the 6 p.m. ET deadline on Monday so is expected to be waived on Tuesday, a league source told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan.
Under the agreement, Iverson will receive only a fraction of the $3 million he was scheduled to earn. If he clears waivers, he will become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday night.
Few NBA teams had shown interest in the 34-year-old guard before Memphis signed him to a one-year, incentive-laden contract on Sept. 10. Memphis fans greeted the biggest star ever to play for the Grizzlies with a big crowd for his introductory news conference and eagerly bought up his No. 3 jersey, though he wound up never playing a game on the team's home court.

Grizzlies make a quick buck off his name. Iverson tarnishes what was left of his "legacy". If the guy would just shut up and play, He could prob be a great bench player for a lot of contending teams. But, He's just too proud.

If that idiot would realize that it isn't 01 and that he needs to come off the bench for a team to be successful, GMs would be all over him. Now he'll have to settle for a European team, or he'll retire. Talk about a **** way to end a hall of fame career

AI would look great in a Harlem Globetrotters uniform. I'm sure they'd love to have his firepower against those dreaded Washington Generals.

I wonder which holds more value to a collector, an Iverson Memphis jersey or a R. Wallace Atlanta jersey?

2003-2004 - Only played in one game...

2009-2010 - Only played in three games...

No thank you---coming from a huge AI fan. He's done, unlike some people, he just can't come off the bench to help the team.

There's an idiot on every board.
Check NET PER, check +/-, check anything you want for the past two seasons,
that statement is ridiculous.
Don't go back to 2008, that Iverson will never be again,
and the 2008 Iverson was no better than 2009 Ray Allen.
Now, Iverson is strictly a bench player.

An idiot on every board??? Harsh mate...as i said..devils advocate...i.e. putting it out there...giving people something to talk about, think about.....damn.....isn't htat how exciting and often productive thngs happen??
Now...I hope u dont say sonething off the cuff one day.....to see what people say.....

NET PER isn't like some definitive super stat. Don't get me wrong I like it and all but especially from the PG position - team defense matters some. Anyway if NET PER is the bees knees - does that mean Rondo has been mediocre this year?

I would feel somewhat bad for those fans that purchased any of these short lived jerseys. What were you thinking, even with buying the latest Iverson one?

2007-2008 - Only played in one game...

Would it surprise anyone if AI landed in Cleveland?
I have a feeling that Cleveland would do it to help Lebron......and i'm 100% sure Lebron would keep him in check. And if he doesn't......great......that way he brings them down.

It would surprise me if he plays even one minute the rest of his career. He's done.
