backup point guard???

i think the backup point is the most important role we need to fill as of now, there are a couple of options out there, which one would you prefer if you were danny?

First we could go internally and try our "coach" tyrone lue but much like cassell last year i doubt doc would keep him off the court if he thought he could help, so im going to say no to this one

second we could try signing antonio daniels, but judging by how long he has been available and the celtics showing no apparent interest i dont see this as happening either

via trade here are some feasible pickups the celtics could make to acquire a serviceable backup point, after all thats all we need: chris quinn, travis denier, cj watson, ronnie price, luke ridnour, sergio rodrigues, beno udrih or marko jaric

Where is Eddie House, Lester Hudson and Marquis Daniels? I don't think DA could do much better than he already has.

What is the purpose of this thread? Is there any indication that the Cs' back up point guard situation is going to change?

I like Watson personally. But E-House has been working fine for us.

We only change something if there is someone significantly better than house or he or rondo goes down. By the deadline someone will be there. Long long shot IS AI. If no one wants him maybe he would take a 15 min per game role if he could be the number 1 option the whole time he is in there. I give it a 5% chance.

The second unit needs a legitimate point guard in my opinion. Eddie House can only bring the ball up the court and pass it to Sheed at the 3pt line for so long. The 2nd unit has a tough time running a smooth offense. Too many times they have Ray or Paul bringing up the ball when they are in the game with them. Lue would be a decent fit. We are only looking for a person to play 10-15 minutes a game, and that would be perfect for him.

To all those who seriously consider AI being a backup PG or even ocming off our bench, you really need to sit and think about things ... or just stop watching bball altogether

are you kidding me? house has been fine? what have yall been watching?

yea i know he may have not made a ton of mistakes, but playing house at point guard totally takes away from what makes him effective- being an off the ball spot up shooter

plus factor in that no one has really tried to pressure him, i think we definitely need to add a backup

stop it with AI, for those of you who wondering why he is not on the list, its because the topic being discussed is what people would like to do at our backup point guard spot, while considering some of the feasible options, first iverson is not a point guard, rather just the size of a point guard, second iverson doesnt fancy himself to be a backup, so i guess he really doesnt factor in to our backup point guard talks then does he?

As for me i think Jaric would be an interesting option, because he can fit in with our second unit pretty much perfectly, meaning he can play the point on the offensive end, and allow eddie to guard the point guard on the defensive end because of his size

I would love denier on the celtics, granted he would be someone who would just get the ball down the floor and us into our offense, but he is an excellent outside shooter, and could give us quality time when rondo is not on the floor or if he ever got hurt; he would probably be the easiest to attain off this list because of the pacers depth at point, but who knows with bird

ridnour and quinn would both be great, but the problem there is that there teams only have one other point on their roster besides them, so i think that would make them tougher to acquire

anyway i hope danny is looking at the options, and looking to add to the roster, the backup point guard wont have to make huge contributions to this team to really help us out

Two letters, TA, I mean we beat LA with TA at point, right? :D

Actually, we need a pg, maybe it's Hudson but he hasn't been given real minutes yet, so there's no way to tell.

I think the plan is for Lester to play more by the All-Star break.
