Victory Cigar Deceiving 20 Point Win vs. GS

Team continued to play like garbage in the first half - D was garbage, O was garbage and passionless. However, we woke up in spurts during the second half to win by 20 - against a team we should have CRUSHED (note however that this team came back against Cavs last nite and almost won, and Cavs blew 17 point lead tonight and were crushed in the second half by the Wiz - :0)).

We better come out with some passion on Friday. I think we will. We play up to the competition. Biscuit brain will predict that we have no chance. I predict a SOLID WIN.

TRUTH 19 points on 60% shooting and solid game - still limping from knee sprain
Rondo certainly stirred the drink in spurts during the second half and ended up with tons of assists and rebounds; however, lots of sloppy passes/TOs and for christ sake, his FT shooting is the worst in the league.
Sheed hit a couple of key 3s when we broke it open.

Truth!

Im going with the truth on this one. He was the only one remotely consistent throughout the game. This was a painful game to watch and i"m glad we "scraped out a 14 point win."

I'm going with the whole Golden State warriors team......they are a cure for what ails us.

hopeuffly we have learned to have rondo not to be slowed down by his 55 million dollar wallet so he can continue to push the ball .
hopefully the rebounding anf defense return from the rest of the collective 83 million.

Rondo was the spark plug that allowed the Celtics to pull away in the 3rd.

Its not really a competition, is it?

Rondo could have had 20 assists tonight if House and Wallace were hitting.

He shot - FG% - better than Pierce, out rebounded Pierce, had one less point.

Rondo had 12 assists and 4 turnovers... Pierce had 2 assists and 2 turnovers....

Not even close.

Had to be Rondo for breaking his 9 FT misses in a row streak

Rondo was the only one who stood out to me.

Rondo and it's not close. I wasn't happy w/his defense tonight for a few possessions, but he was the reason we started pulling away.

It bothers me not at all to see Rondo win the Cigar tonight. We won.

NOTE TO RAJON: No more wild passes, and get in the gym every goddam day and shoot 1000 FTs, goddamit.

I actually thought Rondo sucked for most of the game, he picked it up some mid way through the 3rd but he had the kindest 4 TO game ever, he caused 2 on Perk and that silly feed to Wallace on the break 12 feet from the hoop.

I liked what Perk was doing again minus the 4 TOs.

I guess I am going with PP for just playing his game.

You've been spoiled watching Rondo.

He had 12 assists and 4 turnovers. thats a very good assist to turnover ratio - 3:1. He normally does better than that,

Nash AVERAGES a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio

Thats the range for most very good point guards.

Rondo's been averaging 4:1 so you are spoiled.

and he could have had literally 20 assists, if guys who he got "wide open shots" had hit.....

He broke the game open with the big 3 sitting...

for those of you that voted paul  seriously? I bet your the guys that voted scal for a victory cigar. I mean I love the truth but he wasn't better than Rondo tonight.
Rondo clearly the best game in second half and through out the game 18 12 and 7 and a steal. vs 19 4 2 and a steal hmmm...homerism abound I guess

I wasn't happy with Perk tonight: he should've had about 30 pts against Mikki moore and Randolph, but he couldn't go straight up. Box says he was 4-8, but he bricked about 4 and-1 bunnies.

Let's face it. Perk is not overly athletic.Half the layups he does on great passes I'm think he should be slamming it. He'd be incredible defensively and much better at offense if he was explosive at all.

On a side note I basically forget we have Big Baby. When he comes back hopefully it will be a nice little treat :)

"homerism" this is Rondo's team.

ha ha I love you too sully, look I vote how I see it, If someone is playing better than someone I vote that player in. And this is Capt. truths team not Rondo's, maybe you need your own hater board to go to. Or you and wolves2011 get a room and do whatever rumps swabbing thing, cause thats who your referring too not me. Rondo's my favorite but not the best player on our team I keep it legit, not outlandish like our prize winner on the board.
And thats it, I enjoy what you post unless it's me your calling out. I wasn't being mean I was rolling my eyes at the people that vote pierce 100% or close to it.

This may be a generational thing. You are probably older than some of the Rondo homeboys, and I am definitely older than you. LOL. I started to get serious about the Cs during the Hondo, Red Cowens and Jo Jo years, and it did not take long to become a fanatic.

Rondo, unquestionably, is a great young talent with awesome potential. If the kid ever learns to shoot a consistent 15 foot J (at least better than I used to - LOL), and learns how to make a foul shot, he will be an absolutely elite PG one day. And KG and Ray are future HOFers beginning to slide somewhat.

However, for the last decade (with no support for a long time and when he led us to Number 17 with some studs next to him), this has been Paul Pierce's team, and this still is Paul Pierce's team. Period. It is late. I will not add my usual 4 paragraphs summarizing his HOF-deserving career accomplishments.

That said, they can give Rondo his cigar tonight. WE WON.

And hopefully, this was a wake-up call, and we will come out with playoff-level intensity and squash the Tragic on Friday.

I voted for Rondo. Why was Antoine Walker's non rebounding, no defense playing ass even an option. Perkins and Ray played better than Walker, I mean Waltha.
