The Day Cleveland Died

Post#1 » by Captain_Caveman » Fri Nov 20, 2009 7:59 am

The official death certificate will have the date that LeBron signs the lease on the NYC luxury condo this summer, but for my money, it was late last spring when the Celtics played in Cleveland in that meaningless end of regular season game.

They destroyed us. We played without KG and they beat us by 30. Then they started dancing on the sidelines during garbage time, acting like they had actually done something.

And that is the exact moment that they lost their edge. They thought they killed the dragon. That it was their year. That they had the best record and handled the champs easily. It was LeBron's, and their, destiny.

I know they walked through the next two rounds before catching a bad matchup, but the real story about that team is that night was the last time they played with heart.

Rest in pieces, Cleveland.

There is really no point here. Sorry.
