Sheed KEY to our wins!

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Mon Nov 23, 2009 1:45 pm

Remember the first 5 games

@ Cleveland W 95-89
Charlotte W 92-59
Chicago W 118-90
New Orleans W 97-87
@ Philadelphia W 105-74

We were blowing teams out, playing good D, our bench was amazing, leads with 20+ points...there were some talks we can beat 70-12 bulls record...

and then our domination ended.

@ Minnesota W 92-90
Phoenix L 103-110
@ New Jersey W 86-76
Utah W 105-86 - Only game we played good of last 9
Atlanta L 86-97
@ Indiana L 104-113
Golden State W 109-95
Orlando L 78-83
@ NY Knicks W 107-105 OT

Why?
1) Rasheed Wallace
2) Our bench play - House and Wallace 3pt shooting
3) Defense
4) Rondos apathy
5) KG coming back from injury

Wallace in first 5 games:
15/33 3pt
45,45%

(Eddie House... 10/21 3pt... 47,61%)

Wallace in last 9 games:
7/48
14,48%

(Eddie House... 9/26 3pt... 34,61%)

I know there a lot of different reasons why we lost that swagger from the start of the season but Wallace shooting slump and House not in form are main 2 reasons why we had trouble in last 9 games.

We're just slumping, we'll get back on track soon enough.

Basically, you're saying that this team's successes and failures rely on Sheed. If we won because of his 3 pt shooting, we also struggled because of it. I'm not disagreeing that Sheed was the key to some wins, but, if that's the case, then he was also the key to some losses...so calling Sheed "key" I don't agree with. I'd call him a component, maybe the sixth key.

Sheed is probably the key to the bench so the thing that concerns me is the disparity of 3 pt shooting between him (22-81) and House (19-47). Sheed will have more opportunities because he can spread the floor, shoot over most players and doesn't need a screen to shoot...but still, thats ridiculous.
