so many wide opens this year? he has great fg % rght now but i wonder why he doesnt take that shots.

Is he thinking to much about his high fg percentage? or he's just became more teammate?
Yesterday against heat he passed the ball 3 or 4 open looks to teammates instead take and making them. yesterday some of that passes had became the turnover
Dont get me wrong ,I love the sharing ball and he's my all time favorite celtic but he'd more help to teammates if he takes some of that wide opens imo

I have noticed what you are talking about a bit, but we're winning and Pierce doesn't need to shoot to keep defense honest, so I don't really see it as a problem.

Who cares - Capt like leads the team in scoring - team is winning and we are shooting a high percentage overall.

You take the ones that look like winners, not every single opportunity that comes your way, or suckage begins to happen, are you listening Rasheed?

BTW, he missed some open looks yesterday, too.

this is not a negativity thread as some idiots refer in another topic.
I know it's not a big issue, certanly agree with you all.

He is more mature this year, and it's obvious, even curmudgeon cant deny this
the problem is he is overpassing a little bit, I love new look Pierce but I hope he does not this in playoffs. We'll need his agresiveness and scoring more.

I'm way ok with him at 4.1 and making a few extra passes I don't see much that I haven't seen in years past.
He has legit options now rather than in the past it was just walker, I think that the rub right there.
Better ball movement = wins.

1. No need for name calling.

2. If you start a thread that questions why Pierce is passing the ball instead of shooting it then obviously you don't view that as positive thus it has to be negative.

No way in hell that's wrong. I miss Ricky too..I was devastated when we traded him for friggin Wally's world...Ricky is my 2nd favorite Celtic ever..I hated him when he beat us back in Sota that one time..but that faded quickly..the love was stronger than the hate..

I think he is playing for the Clippers..

I think he has played about the same style the entire big 3 era. Early in the shotclock you might pass on an open outside 3 if you think you can get something even better for a teamate.

The answer is simple - MATURITY, A COMPLETE WELL ROUNDED GAME AND STUD TEAM-MATES THAT HE TRUSTS.

Paul is shooting lights out this year - best in his career. More than often, he gives the team what the team needs in a given game - a solid 20 point game (which is what he is averaging) with loads of assists, rebounds and D, a 20 point isolated quarter when we need it, or a thirtysomething point game when we need it.

Read the Boston Globe from Sat or Sun. There is an awesome article there that I posted in another thread. As per Doc (and yours truly) and alot of other people, he is playing first/second team All Pro and, in Doc's opinion, is a candidate for League MVP right now - even without the gaudier points per game that he averaged prior to the Big 3 era - when he had to carry **** teams.

Ex

That said, Silver, to be totally honest, I agree with you that he overpassed a few times last night leading to a couple of TOs when he should have shot it himself. He was being too unselfish.

I just found the link if you would care to read it for yourself, Silver, or anyone else:

yes, i read that article
Mostly I agree with Doc, and you
He has been unselfish but he's just too unselfish lately . Sure it's seems not a bad thing, but remember comments about KG's unselfisness for years. Ofcourse passing and sharing the ball is main part to be a great team but Paul has been best scorer of this team and if he's wide open he should take them.
In regular season I'm ok with this but when postseason come he has to be a little bit selfish.

btw Pierce has been our best defensive and intense player so far,
