Victory Cigar vs. Grizz - a good young team

Post#1 » by exculpatory » Tue Dec 15, 2009 3:44 am

I put alot of names up because you could make the case for several people. Talk about well balanced???? Awesome team play. I wish our D had been better for a longer stretch, but Grizz played us tough.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

When Rondo was playing, the offense was good, when he was off the floor it looked horrible. Rondo gets my vote.

This was a very very tough choice. So many good performances. The Truth was on point on both sides of the ball. KG was killing it with that jumper. Ray with the clutch three at the end. I went with Rondo. Kid was real nice scoring, stealing, and throwing out assists. Just a great overall game by Rajon, pushing the tempo all night.

Ray was very nice - clutch 3 at the end - 18 points and 5-6 from 3
Truth woke up from his 5 game slumber - nice line - 19 points on 50% shooting including clutch drive to the hoop before Ray's 3, 6A, 2 blocks, 2 steals and nice D on Gay in second half
RR nice also except for a couple of silly TOs at end - 18 points 66% shooting 9A
KG, Perk, Sheed all solid.

My only concern is that I would frigging love to see at least 3 quarters of great D one game.

Well 11 straight and 20-4 - Not toooooooooo bad.

Gotta go with Ray. Can't say no to a game winning 3. :)

Rondo sucked in crunch time, but I still think he was the best player on the floor tonight.

Rondo did play bad at the end but still get my vote. If the C's are healthy come playoff time he needs big big minutes. 40 a night with both units. He really is the straw that stirs the drink.

Went with Sheed. He took over in the second quarter on the low block, hit a huge 3 in the 4th and had a nice steal to seal it.

I could have went with Ray just as easily.

Gave it to RRondo, redonkulous stat line again and kept us in the game. No problem with ray getting it, with the dagger. Sheed 6 for 15? felt like he was 15-15 on randolph in the post, guess it just felt like it. Pierce had a solid game as well. Great over all team effort. Sheldon Williams had great rebounds and hustle points too with T.A.

Rondo for me.

I'm surprised KG didn't do exactly what Rasheed was doing to Zach (minus the 3 point chucks.) He could have had a field day on the block. He winds up with 7 attempts in 33 minutes while Sheed has 15 attempts in 33 mins. Oh boy.

It was close between Rondo and Ray. I gotta give it to Ray on 5 of 6 from 3's and that clutch 3 to ice the game.

Went with Ray. Along with nailing daggers, he also put in a strong effort to stick with Mayo defensively, and crashed the boards physically to pull down 2 offensive rebounds.

Love Rondo's continued aggressiveness and his reducing the "olay" and reach defense.

Paul was strong this game and contested many of Gay's shots. TA also had a great game and deserves mention, particularly the defense on the much taller Gay.

Very encouraged to see Wallace on the blocks as much as he was offensively. When Baby returns with his added scoring punch from the perimeter, Wallace's commitment to low post offense will be equally beneficial, pray it continues.
Baylor is Brat.

Tony Allen has his share of 'Oh my god, what are you **** (Please Use More Appropriate Word)??' plays..but for the most part, he contributes alot to our team. I'm glad he's back. We really haven't 'skipped a beat' by replacing Quisy with him...his defense is just as good, if not better than Marquis' IMO..if he could just handle the ball like a regular basketball player, he would be extremely solid...somebody has to tell him not to play so sloppy. Either than that, there's not much to complain about TA..I actually thank the lord that he came back, or else we would have to see Scal's funky ass playing 20+ all the way til the end of February... :-?

Ray was playing darts he gets the cigar.

While Rondo is playing great ball this idea that he is greater because the offense sucks with Eddie playing PG is like me saying KG is great because we suck with Scal in there (oddly even though we don't). House is a lousy pg and always has been it isn't really up for debate.

As for TA he is always great in a rag tag game. I like his defense but I disagree with him being a better defender than Daniels. He is a more aggressive defender but that doesn't fly against top flite competition, Daniels is a much better man to man defender against top level talent, he doesn't get used the way Tony does at times.
