Where should Rondo be ranked among our Top 5?

Where would you guys rank Rondo amongst the top five players on our roster? Has he eclipsed Allen and become our third best? I've started to notice much indifference on where he should be ranked, and I'd like to see your inputs.

My list is:
1. Garnett
2. Pierce
3. Rondo
4. Allen
5. Perkins

Agree, disagree?

Rondo is 4th and it's just not out of respective for the 3 Vets it's because it's true. Defenses still plan on how to defend Ray. He moves around so much that defenses worry about him getting open on the wings and corner so they plan accordingly. If i were running back in transition with another defender I would be more worried about Ray on the wing of a 3 on 2 rather than Rondo (probably because i know I can adjust in time to meet Rondo at the rim, instead of worrying about his jump shooting ability like i would have to with Ray).

For me
1. Pierce
2. Rondo
3. Garnett
4. Perkins
5. Allen

I was going to keep Garnett on the top and then I thought about it. Pick the best line up
Rondo - Allen - Pierce - Sheed - Perk
Rondo - Allen - Marquis - KG - Perk
House - Allen - Pierce - KG - Perk

It's hard for me to rank our guysn against each other.
The celtics play beatiful team basketball, and do not worry about the stat sheet. I think they all make each other better and thrive off each other.
I know they all def play their roles well
Rondo- Assist/Distributor
Allen- Sniper
Pierce- Slasher
Garnett- Heart of the D
Perkins- The Cleaner
I rank each of our guys equally as important.

Tough for me to put Rondo over Allen, but I give them a tie. Every time I see him running iso for himself near the end of shot-clocks, I already know nothing good is going to happen. When he's attacking the rim, he's as good as it gets. He's like a lot of young players.. he is super-talented with a lot of potential to grow, but is unaware still of where he wants to develop his game. So he ends up having some games where he'll go 1-7 trying to shoot jumpers and another game where he'll go 9-12 shooting only at the rim. He needs to focus his game on what he's good at. The other things will come with practice / time.

So far I think Rondo has been our second best player on the court. :P

So Pierce
Rondo
KG
Allen
Perkins.

But despite that I feel that championship wise the person I would least want to lose would be KG - followed by Pierce and then Allen. The Celtics are letting Rondo "shine" so to speak. It would be an adjustment but I think the C's could right themselves like the Magic did with Rafer Alston. They would however have to go out and get a guy of his low caliber..

The C's are in a great situation. Our older guys can kick back a bit while Rondo busts his a** and gets us a bunch of wins.

The Truth is without a doubt the "man" when the chips are down, and a clutch shot or assist is needed. Except for his occasional "off games", he gives the team exactly what it needs when it needs it - whether it be solid 18-20 point games with good Rs, As and D, isolated single quarter "explosions", or occasional 30+ point games.
KG = Rondo (at least in 2009-2010): Rondo has been fantastic of late, and stirs the drink. When and if he shoots and makes a medium range J consistently and makes 75% of his FTs, he will be a Top 3 PG in this league right next to CP3 and Deron Williams. KG is KG, the very heart and soul of our D, and a first vote HOFER. He is getting back to the real KG as the season progresses.
Ray - Still incredibly valuable as our dead-eye sniper who spaces the floor. I hope that he consistently returns to 2007-2009 Ray very soon.
Perk - Solid as hell defensively, and showing some post moves that I never thought he would show us.

But I also reiterate what was said before. THIS IS A TEAM, MAN! We are blending very well together, and everyone has their rolls.

1. Kevin Garnett
2. Rajon Rondo
3. Paul PIerce
4. Ray Allen
5. Kendrick Perkins
6. Rasheed Wallace
7. Marquis Daniels
8. Eddie House
9. Sheldon Williams
10. Glen Davis
11. Tony Allen

Trade Fodder:
Brian Scalabrine, JR Giddens, Lester Hudson, Billy Walker

In addition, one of Sheldon Williams or Glen Davis;
and once Marquis Daniels returns in February, then Tony Allen,
should also be included in the available for Trade category.

Unfortunately, NBA contracts become guaranteed January 10,
so the 27 teams with 1 to 4 unguaranteed contracts won't be able to release
players at no cost after January 10.

Also, the NBA trade deadline is February 18, which is right around
when Marquis Daniels is expected to be able to play in actual games again.
Naturally, Daniels will be able to resume working out,
and actually practicing, much sooner than that,
but the Celtics will probably want to hold onto Tony Allen until then.

If Rondo is not widely regarded as the best player on the Cs by April, I don't see how we win 18 this year. The Big Three are what they are. We all better pray Rondo continues to develop and gets even more consistent. He is the one player the Lakers have no answer for -- hell, no one does -- otherwise, I take no pleasure in concluding they can handle us.

How much do I hate the Lakers? I can barely watch them on TV. It is visceral, like when W. Bush was president; I changed the channel whenever he came on the air with his BS.

Rajon, we need you to be the man. The future is now.

This is a very good point elrod. I know it is a short sample size but Rondo seems like he is on the verge of doing exactly what you are suggesting. We all remember last December how his improved play was a huge factor in the 19 game win streak and how he was able to remain consistent for the most part. The confidence he gained during that stretch was vital for his level of play in Feb/Mar/playoffs. Hopefully this season he can have a repeat performance. So far this month he is avg 14.4/10.6 ast the best he has ever avg in a month. However, it has been a small sample size but we should watch if he is able to maintain this level of play.

Cave, you voted precisely as I did and saved about 500 words of typing. LOL.

Even very very smart and excellent posters like Elrod and Jammer do not get it even today. Paul is still the man on this team, and has always been. I am not diminishing KG or RR in the slightest. I love them on this team forever. KG is a first vote HOFER and the heart and soul of our D. RR is playing fantastically well of late, and we need him to continue that kind of play, and get even better.

However, the buck stops with Paul Pierce - period. He WILL lead us to Banner 18 - with KG as his 1A and RR as his 2 currently, and maybe one day his 1B

Peace. Happy Holidays.
