NBA ref Kennedy (among others) needs to go

Post#1 » by celtics792244 » Sat Dec 19, 2009 4:08 am

I know.. I know another official bitching thread... but DAM! Gotta call this SOB out. DVR'd the game and watching it now... Wallace definately his different standards than other players but WTF, JUST CALL THE GAME! This is what the 'disgraced' official is talking about. Kennedy is the one that made the hand gesture to Doc last year... and after throwing out sheed he calls a foul on Perk for boxing out! IS THIS GUY ON THE TAKE!!! Anybody watch the Bucks get screwed against LA Wednesday? Fisher flop with 2 minutes to go... Kobe travels and plows into Bogut (who is in position) gets an and 1 and Fakers win the game. This is the crap we are forced to watch. Mark my words... Bavetta will *retire* at seasons end. His own decision to do so, of course. NBA couldn't do it this past summer because it would add validity to Dohnagy (?) stories. These are the small calls they make during the course of the game which go unnoticed on the sportcenters of the world. Come on NBA, this is free feedback on your product and we know you monitor it. CLEAN UP YOUR GAME!

Well, I would like to preface what I am going to day about the refs that the Cs should never have been in that position with the Sixers. On their home court, they should have blown them out. Plain and simple. No excuses.

Now onto the refs. I firmly believe that if it weren't for the Celtics, I would never watch the NBA and I LOVE basketball. That no call on Pierce going for that dunk was just embarrassing (you think the Golden Child or Kobe wouldn't have gotten that call?). Then, the phantom call when Pierce grabbed that rebound. I mean, it is just ridiculous. It is not the reason the Cs lost, but it is a reason why I hate NBA refereeing. These guys get paid a lot of money and just are not competent. I am not alone on this either, as I have a friend who I spoke with during the game who LOVES the NBA, but just feels it has gotten out of control. It really has made the game unwatchable.

I agree with every single point you made. I love basketball and like the NBA, but any time the refs become negatively involved, even when watching other teams, it becomes painful to watch. The C's had every chance to win last night despite the refs, but I still think something has to be done. Illegitimacy is why I never got into wrestling.

Stern acts like there is no problem despite the fact that this is the worst problem facing the NBA- the horrendously embarrassing officiating. That is why Stern is a disgrace

The NBA seeks mice who can not (as who opposed to simply will not)
express their thoughts and feeling coherently and effectively.

They then retain the services of obviously incompetent staff
who will follow the company line, which means promote whichever team
the league deems is beneficial.

Mark Cuban said it years ago, about the inconsistencies between officials,
but Cuban has been fined so many times by Stern he does not
publicly voice his sentiments like he did 8 years ago.

And this group of racketeers get to operate under an anti-trust exemption.

Everyone would be better off if they weened
the bottom 10% of the officials out of the league every year.

There is plenty of film convincingly demonstrating incompetence in officiating.

What really blows my mind is they act like nothing is wrong and we are a bunch of blind mice.

The Thornton charge was a terrible call in the Clippers-Knicks game. Of course Kobe gets that call against the Bucks. The officiating in the NBA infuriates me to no end. I completely despise Stern

Here we go with the conspiracy bull again. Do you have any proof to backup your claim? No. Why do some of you guys always throw the Lakers in everything that doesnt go your way? SO the reff misses a call on P.P and it automatically has something to do with the Lakers. Come on now.

Right did you even watch the game, first of all it was a flop second he was still moving when Kobe backed into him, oh and it was Stern who missed the Bucks freethrows and it was Stern that made the shot with .3 seconds left. Dammmmmm Stern.

Yes, I watched it and on top of it all, Kobe traveled. Did you see the Thornton charge?

I could not agree more with Canman.... love hoops, but hate the NBA due solely to the refs..... Stern is a fool, but I guess he won't do anything to rectify as long as the money is rolling in.

Philly game was Kennedy's first against the Celtics this season, but the ref worked six Boston games (including two in the playoffs) last year. Let's see how Boston fared in this games, shall we?

2-5

That's right: 2 wins, 5 losses. 0.286 winning pct.

Celtics combined record for the last season and this season (including playoffs):

89-32. 0.736 winning pct.

Let's take a closer look at this 5 Celtic losses:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore?gid=2009121802
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_y ... 2009042604
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_y ... 2009041205
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_y ... 2009031704
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_y ... 2008122513

In all 5 games Celtics were whistled for more fouls than their opponent and shot less free throws.

More that that, if you look at one playoff game that the Celtics actually won on Kennedy's watch, it's the famous Big Shot Baby Davis game vs. Orlando:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_y ... 2009051019

As you can remember it's the same game, were Pierce was lighting it up till the third quarter when he was whistled for two quick fouls and was forced to sit while the Magic crawled back from -9 to take the lead.

ALL this............And Stern wants to endorse betting on the games?

As far as I'm concerned, the NBA's biggest problem is their officiating...

If they dont get a handle on this, and soon, many fans will lose interest...I'm tired of having this third element to the game.....The game should simply be won or lost by the players, not by the officials....We dont pay to see the officials blow their collective whistles....they should be unnoticeable....

Maybe its time to go back to having just two of them?

And Stern is out of his friggen mind if he endorses gambling on NBA games!

Yeah, Stern wants a team in Vegas, so that is why I think he is saying what he is saying. Stern is so far detached from reality it is sickening. Everyone sees the officiating as a major issue, yet he fails to address it. He really feels that everything he that he has done is the right thing and there is never anything wrong.

Agree Can. He is a very smart dude, but he is way too full of himself.

The inconsistent officiating is destroying the game I love.

Yeah those are interesting stats.. Something to keep in mind if your betting NBA games..that's for sure. Ironically I think in the end its the gamblers that could keep the NBA honest..

Return to Boston Celtics
