simmons trade ideas

• Fake Trade 7b: Calderon to the Celtics for Eddie House (EC), Tony Allen (EC), Glen Davis and $3 million. Celts get the third guard they need; Toronto dumps Calderon's contract, pockets $3 million and gets a useful banger in Big Baby.

(Crap. That's not nearly as good as the Lakers trade. I feel sick. Forget I mentioned this.)

•Fake Trade 10: Tayshaun and DaJuan Summers (cap throw-in) to Boston for the Tony Allen/Brian Scalabrine/J.R. Giddens expirings plus Big Baby and $3 million. Imagine the Celts tossing out a defensive quintet of Pierce, Rondo, Prince (if healthy), KG and Perkins? Now that's a championship quintet! Worth the risk, I say.

(Note: I would have swapped Rasheed Wallace for Perkins there, but it's tough to frighten teams defensively when your center has man-boobs. Hey Rasheed, when do you plan on getting in shape for the season? It's Christmas. Do we have an ETA yet? February? March? Could you let us know?)

I hate the 1st trade but like the 2nd trade.

sorry I have not been posting much but you are my sport guys I'm a film maker and musician so no sports buddies to chat with, and been filming past two months. happy xmas and all that sort...

Eh. Calderon is crap and is a major down grade from Rondo. Prince is good, but he wouldn't be happy with 10 mins a game when Quisy comes back.

I hate to say this, but the main reason I don't like the Calderon trade is because at this point we really need T.A. off the bench. If we could do it with Scal instead, maybe, but we'd still be paying too much for our backup PG. It would bring back visions of the Calderon/Ford rotation that worked so well for Toronto a few years ago, but I still don't think it's worth paying that much.

Second is a no brainer. I could see Detroit being interested in it (I believe they were interested in Baby last summer), but I doubt they'd do it on their side. We could really use someone like Prince on this team, especially with his history of durability (up until this year of course).

People need to stop underestimating Glen Davis. Davis is going to have a big year soon as he is back. Davis is going to be lighter, quicker, and faster, and will have a left hand that he has been working on for the past 6 weeks.

I personally think he will be great for us, but after the All star. he is behind on everything now, his timing and conditioning have to be bad.
I think it will also take him a little time to adjust to playing with sheed and quis

I'll agree that his timing will be bad but I don't see how a cast on his hand would stop him from being in shape (let's hear it insatiable). The hardest time he might have though is getting enough minutes to get his timing, Shelden has earned some time.

running on a treadmill is totally different than being in a game. You will notice it the first few games when he is struggling after 5 minutes on the floor.
oh, and now he has to learn to play with the new weight.

I thought this was funny as well.

It also wouldn't shock me if Don Nelson coached a game naked from the waist down, or if their devoted fans organized the first boycott of a professional sports team that actually worked. Can an entire franchise get Tyson Zone status?

Some of the trades just make too much sense to go down though.
