Kendrick Perkins

Post#1 » by ARisYourDaddy » Sun Dec 27, 2009 4:10 pm

How important is this guy to your team?? W's fan here! I come in peace so please don't bash me I just want your guys input. If another team were to offer Perk a salary of 8-10 annually. Is he worth it?

Please give me this guys strengths and weakness to what he can bring a team..I know his numbers don't jump out at you but I think this guy is impressive and can definitely back his game up..

Would you guys do a sign and trade for a resigned Perkins for either Biedrins and Morrow or Turiaf and Morrow??

Hopefully Perk retires a Celtic!

He is a perfect fit here. Unbelievable work ethic, understands his role and gets better from year to year.

IMO, the best man-to-man defensive center in the league. I really don`t see a scenario where we trade him, we need him to shut down Howard in the playoffs.

I love Morrow, he would be great here because he is a phenomenal shooter but GS doesn`t really have anyone I would trade Perk for. It is too hard to find a real center these days to trade him away...

Perkins is going nowhere. Once you get past his lack of eye-popping athleticism, he has a genius BBall IQ, a killer work ethic, Cowens-like intensity, the best game-face in the NBA, and improves every year. He is a stud defender. His offense will never be confused with Olajuwon, but he has gone from worthless to being a credible force. It will likely get better in years to come. A perfect fit for the team, beloved by his teammates, the organization and every single Cs fan who is not a wanker. He and Rondo are best friends. He will never put up numbers like Brook Lopez, but there are very few centers in the league I would trade Perk for. Biedrins is not on the list. Guys with Perk's attributes and traits --especially big guys -- do not grow on trees.

The Cs can extend Perk's deal this off-season. Expect it to be done and Perk will get around $10-11m per year.

Barring injuries, expect to see 43 in the rafters in around 10-12 years.

I do like beidrins but overall perkins has same stats but brings better d even with the addition of morrow whom is bad ass I still have to pass. UNTOUCHABLE AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED ALONG WITH RONDO.
if his shoulder goes down a couple more times then I would remove untouchable but still hesitant, hard to get a beast in these times at center and we have one.

The most impresive feature about Perk to me is that after 7 years as a pro, he keeps improving each year. Not just statwise but as a player. He has always been a great D big man but now he is a reliable offensive threat.
Way to go Perk!

Turiaf and Morrow?? Neither of them start for the Warriors and both would be even further back on the Celtic bench.

The Christmas game vs. Orlando is a perfect example of Kendrick does. He shuts down the opposing center even when that center is Dwight Howard. Biedrins is a better offensive player than Perkins but on a team with Pierce, Garnett and Ray Allen who cares. Marrow is a nice little player but who cares? He is a two guard and they are a dime a dozen.

I dont watch many Celtics games but from what I seen, this guy is a great defender. Look at the christmas game against the Magic, he really frustrated Howard. He is a perfect fit in Boston and I do not see Celtics moving him anytime soon.

stunk last night.

BTW, in his 2nd year, I posted a number of times that he was ahead of Big Ben Wallace regarding his stats (for his age) and after being dissed for that comment based on his slow, clumsy, fouling, horrid shooting touch, I now take Perk over Ben almost at any point in his career as he can shoot FT's and has a pretty decent post game going, is a better big defender but cannot rebound like Wallace. Plus he's mean.

Perk couldn't handle Kaman at all.

He's not used to guys that big who actually have a refined post-up game.

He's used to guys that size being like Bynum or Howard, who don't do anything when they can't just run over a smaller guy.

actually I just finished watching the 2nd half of last night's game  and Perk didn't suck. My bad. I thought he looked pretty good, Kaman got most of his points outside.

When the shots are taken from out side there not much you can do as a defender but get a hand to his face and pray that he misses!
