If Walker and Giddens don't play with Pierce out, then when?

Once again, Doc Rivers is being stubborn. He refuses to play Walker or Giddens and plays Scalabrine. In Scalabrine we already know we have one of the worst players in the NBA. So why not play Walker or Giddens the 10-15 minutes that Scal is getting with Pierce out?
Ainge needs to know if Walker and/or Giddens can contribute meaningful minutes this year incase of injuries. This is the best time to play Walker/Giddens but Doc is in love with Scal for some reason. Ainge needs to sit down with Doc and address this issue. If Walker and Giddens can't help us, then we need to find a SF that can.
By the way, I was at the Celtics/Clippers game and Doc Rivers got outcoached by Mike Dunlevy down the stretch. Mike Dunlevy of all people.

Probably because the 2 suck in practice and neither are ready for the NBA? If they deserved minutes, Doc would play them.

Some players are better in real games than in practice. I'm not saying to start either of those guys, but give them a chance. Scalabrine is playing the worst ball in his entire career now. Doc needs to sit his ass down.

We all know by now that Giddens, Walker and Hudson won`t play this season...we definitely need a back up SF but that has been the case since Posey left us. Whether Danny does anything about it is another thing...

Do they suck in practice? Because Doc has a pretty good track record of only playing young guys when he has no other option (Gomes, Powe, Rondo).

Giddens and Walker will play when they are released by the Celtics this summer,
and their long list of suitors include:
Maccabi Tel Aviv
Polish League
Turkish League
They'll get some run there,
and maybe, if they're really good,
they'll be able to play in the
Argentine League, which produced Anderson Varejao and Manu Ginoboli.
And if we overestimate their ability, well,
then their is always the Iranian League.

Varejao is Brazilian and never played in Argentina, Jammer...

Otherwise I agree with you. Giddens isn`t NBA material, we know that by now. Walker hasn`t shown much either but he has a little better understanding of the game, so he will get a few more tries in the league. Lester to me looks like he has the best tools to make it in the NBA as a scoring combo guard off the bench but that will not happen on the Celtics, IMO...
Hopefully we can package them for a decent bench player. If not just cut them all and sign veterans like Lue who can help us a right now and Doc actually has the confidence in them to give them minutes if someone goes down...

Muchas Gracias. Oops, don't they speak Portugese in Brazil, rather than Spanish?

Im guessing (knock on wood) Walker and Giddens still will not get any minutes unless another wing goes down to injury. Doc isn't going to play either of these guys unless he absolutely has to. Same thing happened to Gomes when he was a rookie I believe. Speaking of Gomes....I still hope we can bring him back here.

I wouldn't say it was the same thing with Gomes. Gomes we knew could play (he proved it in preseason). Walker and Giddens proved no such thing. And I'm not looking forward to seeing either one of them play other than garbage time, because it will probably mean someone is hurt.

DeAndre Jordan would look pretty nice on the bench in Giddens' spot.

When will the baby love end?
Walker, Gidden and Hudson don't get PT because they're not good enough. This is why some of us wonder why they're taking up a roster spot that could be filled with a vet.
This isn't 2006, folks. We're trying to win a championship, not let the babies play so we can get a higher pick in the lottery.

How would we get him and why would they trade him?

I think he's talking about players we could have drafted in spite of Giddens. In which case I agree, after Batum was gone, I wanted Jordan.
CDR would look pretty nice right about now too.

Could it be that Doc in a crazy effort to win games is playing the guys who have lot of experience winning games?

Doc plays who he thinks are the best guys. <g> That isn't to say Walker or Giddens could bloom later in their career. Its not entirely unprecedented. I for one wouldn't be surprised if Walker stuck around (maybe on another team) and became a roleplayer quality player (like a Matt Barnes).
Yes I do admit its hard to believe Scalabrine is better then Walker (not Giddens who looks crappy in warmups even!).. But we don't know as fans.

I would like to see Walker out there defending SF's instead of Scalabrine. Scal offers nothing at SF. He has been hesitant shooting and for good reason since his shot looks WAYYYY off lately. I almost had a stroke when I saw him on Al Thornton. For a 6'9" guy with a decent amount of speed, it makes no sense why Scal can't pull down a rebound.
Giddens is a lost cause, but I still think I'd rather see him at SF over Scal.
Doc has a spotty track record, but he was right on Giddens. Off the top of my head, the Justin Reed over Gomes and Telfair over Rondo things weren't the greatest.

Giddens was out there shooting an hour before the Clippers game. At one point, JR made 11 straight 3's and 14 out of 15. I know it's shoot around, but the guy can shoot the 3, can rebound and defend. Walker and Giddens need a chance, a chance that Doc isn't giving them.
I can understand if Pierce and Daniels were healthy or if we had a player like Travis Outlaw on the team. But Doc is playing Brian **** Scalabrine.
