Trade Idea: BOS/HOU/CHI

Just for fun:
Boston gets in the middle of a Houston/Chicago TMAC trade.
It's been reported that Houston wants a young asset and expiring contracts to keep it's cap space intact for 2010.
Houston gets Glen Davis, James Johnson, JR Giddens (young players), Brad Miller, Brian Scalabrine (useful expiring contracts), Boston's 2010 1st round draft pick.
Chicago gets TMAC, Eddie House and tons of cap space in 2010 for (Wade, Bosh, LeBron etc.)
Boston gets Hinrich (Celtics get a backup PG & SG).
Does a 2nd unit of Hinrich, TA, Daniels, Shelden & Rasheed make the Celtics better?

I personally think Hinrich would be amazing on the C's.

Me too, that's why I'm coming up with this stupid trade idea.

Maybe Danny Ainge is viewing this and it will give him an idea.

I dont think HOU wants Big Baby and his 2 yr contract. They have Scola and Landry who are both better then him. This trade still works if you give Baby to the Bulls who lack a big guy or if you trade Shelden/Hudson instead of BBD becuase they are expirings...

The last thing Houston would want is for two young PFs back when they already have Landry and Scola. Otherwise the deal makes sense and I could still see them being interested.

Its an interesting trade. however I do not know if Hinrich is worth a first round pick. Another is his contract. He has I believe 2 years after this year at 9.5 million. The celtics will have almost 20 million spent at the point guard position.

How about this instead:
Boston Trades: B Scal, E House, T Allen & JR Giddens
Boston Gets: K Heinrich & K Lowery
Chicago Trades: B Miller, K Heinrich & T Thomas
Chicago Gets: T-Mac & T Allen
Houston Trades: T-Mac & K Lowery
Houston Gets: B Scal, E House, T Thomas & JR Giddens

Big Baby, Eddie House, Giddens, Scal and a 2010 first round pick, for Hinrich? We give up 4 players and a pick, for 1 player back?Waaaaaahhhhh? Am I missing something?

+1, Deng would be a solid pickup as well. Our bench needs some work and this is a team that seems to want to clear cap space for 2010. At the same time, players like Hinrich and Deng are still young and could help our team in the future as well as right now.
How to get it done, remains the issue...

We could simplify this idea a little bit. I came up with:
Boston CelticsOut: Eddie House
Brian Scalabrine
Tony Allen/Marquis Daniels (either works)
2011 1st Rounder
In: Kirk Hinrich
Chicago BullsOut: Kirk Hinrich
Brad Miller
In: Tracy McGrady
Boston's 2011 First Rounder
Houston RocketsOut: Tracy McGrady
In: Eddie House
Brad Miller
Brian Scalabrine
Tony Allen/Marquis Daniels

Continued...
Why for us: Hinrich would be a great addition as our backup point guard and can also guard shooting guards. We experienced him guard Paul Pierce first hand in the playoffs very well. We dump Scal and either TA/Daniels, one of them won't be needed.
Why for Chicago: They get TMac, the person they have expressed interest in.
Why for Houston: They dump TMac, the person they are interested in dumping. Along with this, they get a bunch of expirings who may or may not help their team, but will not cause the problems TMac might.
Our depth chart now looks like this, assuming we are required to trade Daniels:
(minutes)
Perkins (26) / Wallace (22)
Garnett (30) / Baby (18)
Pierce (34) / TA (14)
Allen (34) / TA + Hinrich (14)
Rondo (34) / Hinrich (14)

Umm, I'd rather keep Big Baby. I like the deal above though. Hinrich would be an excellent backup to Rondo.
